Cranbourne South
Cranbourne South is a locality in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 49 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Cranbourne South recorded a population of 3,241 at the 2021 census. By 2009 the urban growth boundary had moved along Pearcedale and Browns Road, placing a large area of the locality inside the main growth area. Two large scale housing developments, Botanic Ridge and Settlers Run Estate, were established in the area which was excised as the suburb of Botanic Ridge. In 2019, development in Cranbourne South's area began with a new estate called Brompton. The part located within Cranbourne South is bounded by a new part of Ballarto Road to the north, Dandenong-Hastings Road to the west and Cranbourne Road to the south and east. Cranbourne is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located south-east of Melbourne and includes the suburbs of Botanic Ridge, Cranbourne, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne West, Junction Village, as well as parts of Clyde, Clyde North, Cranbourne South, and Devon Meadows. It was created prior to the 1992 state election. The current sitting member is Pauline Richards of the Labor Party, who has held the seat since 2018. History Cranbourne was held by Jude Perera of the Labor Party from 2002 to 2018, with a two-party preferred margin of 2.3% at the 2014 state election. Pearcedale is a town in Victoria, Australia, 49 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey and the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government areas. Pearcedale recorded a population of 3,867 at the 2021 census. A bus service operates to and from Frankston station via Baxter as well as a service to Cranbourne station via Botanic Ridge. An urban growth boundary (UGB) is a regional boundary, set in an attempt to control urban sprawl by, in its simplest form, mandating that the area inside the boundary be used for urban development and the area outside be preserved in its natural state or used for agriculture. Legislating for an urban growth boundary is one way, among many others, of managing the major challenges posed by unplanned urban growth and the encroachment of cities upon agricultural and rural land. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). It had a response rate of 96.1%, up from the 95.1% at the 2016 census. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as 25,422,788, an increase of 8.6 per cent or 2,020,896 people over the previous 2016 census. Results from the 2021 census were released to the public on 28 June 2022 from the Australian Bureau of Statistics website. The City of Casey is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the outer south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Casey is Victoria's most populous municipality, with a 2021 population of 365,239. Devon Meadows, Victoria
Devon Meadows is a town in Victoria, Australia, 50 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Devon Meadows recorded a population of 1,551 at the 2021 census. Devon Meadows Post Office was located at 89 Finsbury Road and opened on 21 March 1915, and closed in 1941.The original building was one of the oldest buildings in Devon Meadows. It became a residential home and was known as being haunted, but burnt down around 1984. The oldest home was owned by the Rawlins family in Worthing Road.
