Cranbourne East Railway Station
Cranbourne East is a proposed railway station on the Cranbourne railway line in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne East, Victoria, Australia. It would be part of a short extension from the current Cranbourne terminus, with the station to be located west of Broad Oak Drive and north of the Blue Hills retirement village, and adjacent to near the Casey Fields sporting complex. There is a proposed pedestrian underpass to be built along with the station. The station was promised by the Australian Labor Party during the 1999 and 2002 state election campaigns, but was dumped in May 2006. In November 2003, a "Trainlink" bus service was introduced as an alternative, meeting each train at Cranbourne station and running on a largely one-way loop through Cranbourne East. Cranbourne Railway Line
The Cranbourne line is a commuter railway line in the city of Melbourne, Victoria (state), Victoria, Australia. Operated by Metro Trains Melbourne, it is the city's second longest metropolitan railway line at . The line runs from Flinders Street railway station, Flinders Street station in central Melbourne to Cranbourne railway station, Cranbourne station in the south-east, serving 24 stations via the City Loop, South Yarra railway station, South Yarra, Caulfield railway station, Caulfield, Oakleigh railway station, Oakleigh, and Dandenong railway station, Dandenong. Cranbourne Railway Station
Cranbourne railway station is a commuter railway station and the terminus of the Cranbourne line, which is part of the Melbourne railway network. It serves the south-eastern suburb of the same name, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and opened on 1 October 1888. The station was closed between 24 July 1993 and 24 March 1995, and the current station was opened in 2008. History Cranbourne opened as a station on the South Gippsland line. Casey Fields is a $30 million, 70 hectare multi-sports complex in the City of Casey at Cranbourne East, a southeastern suburb of Melbourne. The complex is home to Australian rules football, cricket, netball, soccer, tennis, cycle sport, cycling, golf, and rugby football. The precinct's most prominent facility is the Main Oval, an Australian rules football oval which serves as the home of the Casey Demons in the Victorian Football League. The Victorian Transport Plan was a transport planning framework for the state of Victoria, Australia announced on 9 December 2008 by then Premier of Victoria, John Brumby. The plan was submitted to the Government of Australia for funding approval.
