Craig Barratt
Craig H. Barratt (born 12 May 1962) is an Australian technology executive who served as Chief Executive Officer at Barefoot Networks until its acquisition by Intel in July 2019. Following the acquisition, and until his departure in May 2020, he served as senior vice president and general manager of the Connectivity Group under Intel's Data Platforms Group. Barratt previously served as the CEO of Atheros from 2003, through its IPO in 2004 until its acquisition by Qualcomm in 2011. He continued as President of Qualcomm Atheros upon the close of the acquisition in May 2011 until early 2013. Barratt then served as Senior Vice President, Access and Energy, at Google from 2012 until 2016. Open source software Barratt is the author of BackupPC, an open source backup system. Craig R. Barrett (born August 29, 1939) is an American business executive who served as the chairman of the board of Intel Corporation until May 2009. He became CEO of Intel in 1998, a position he held for seven years. After retiring from Intel, Barrett joined the faculty at Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix. Career In 1994, Barrett was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering for technical leadership in advancing quality and productivity through manufacturing technology in the semiconductor industry. Barrett served as the president of Intel starting in 1997 and its chief executive officer from 1998 to 2005. BackupPC
BackupPC is a free disk-to-disk backup software suite with a web-based frontend. The cross-platform server will run on any Linux, Solaris, or UNIX-based server. No client is necessary, as the server is itself a client for several protocols that are handled by other services native to the client OS. In 2007, BackupPC was mentioned as one of the three most well known open-source backup software, even though it is one of the tools that are "so amazing, but unfortunately, if no one ever talks about them, many folks never hear of them". Data deduplication reduces the disk space needed to store the backups in the disk pool. It is possible to use it as D2D2T solution, if the archive function of BackupPC is used to back up the disk pool to tape. rsync is a utility for efficiently transferring and synchronizing files between a computer and a storage drive and across networked computers by comparing the modification times and sizes of files. It is commonly found on Unix-like operating systems and is under the GPL-3.0-or-later license. Rsync is written in C as a single threaded application. The rsync algorithm is a type of delta encoding, and is used for minimizing network usage. Zlib may be used for additional data compression, and SSH or stunnel can be used for security. Rsync is typically used for synchronizing files and directories between two different systems. Latex is an emulsion (stable dispersion) of polymer microparticles in water. Latexes are found in nature, but synthetic latexes are common as well. PSfrag is a LaTeX package that allows one to overlay Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) figures with arbitrary LaTeX constructions, properly aligned, scaled, and rotated. The user has to place a text tag into the EPS file and the corresponding LaTeX construction into the LaTeX file that will include the EPS file.
