Cover My Tracks
''Cover My Tracks'' is the first studio album by English singer-songwriter Charlie Fink. The record was released 2 June 2017. The album is paired with a stage play of the same name. Background Following on from the break-up of English indie rock band Noah and the Whale, of which he was the frontman and songwriter, Fink released a song in mid-2015 on his SoundCloud called "My Heartbeat Lost Its Rhythm". Fink then began to write for productions at the Old Vic, including ''The Lorax'', as well as writing the music for the film ''A Street Cat Named Bob''. In early April 2017, the Old Vic announced a new show for June of the same year, called ''Cover My Tracks'', in which Fink would be starring. Charlie Fink
Charlie Fink (born 16 May 1986) is an English songwriter, producer and filmmaker best known for fronting Noah and the Whale and for his work as a composer for theatre. He has been described as "one of Britain’s most daring and inventive songwriters" by the Sunday Times and "a theatre composer of the first rank" by the Evening Standard. Early life Fink was born in Twickenham, West London. His paternal grandfather was a German Jew who escaped the Nazis in the 1930s and went to South Africa. Fink was privately educated at The Mall School, Twickenham, and St Paul's School, London. Music Noah and the Whale Fink has the sole writing credit on the first three Noah and the Whale albums which have collectively sold over a million copies worldwide, including two gold records and one platinum record. Noah And The Whale
Noah and the Whale were a British indie rock and folk band from Twickenham, formed in 2006. The band's last line-up consisted of Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar), Tom Hobden (violin/ keyboards), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar/keys) and Michael Petulla (drums). Doug Fink (drums), the brother of lead singer Charlie, and Laura Marling (backing vocals) were also past members of the band. The band have played at a number of notable venues, including a sold-out show at The Royal Albert Hall and festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Green Man and Glastonbury as well as headlining Wilderness Festival in 2013. The Lorax
''The Lorax'' is a children's book written by Dr. Seuss and published in 1971. It chronicles the plight of the environment and the Lorax, the titular character, who "speaks for the trees" and confronts the Once-ler, a business magnate who causes environmental destruction. Just like most Dr. Seuss works, most of the creatures mentioned are original to the book. The story is commonly recognized as a fable concerning the danger of greed causing human destruction of the natural environment, using the literary element of personification to create relatable characters for industry (as the Once-ler), the environment (being the Truffula trees) and environmental activism (as the Lorax). The story encourages personal care and involvement in making the situation better: a quote from the Lorax states, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. ''A Street Cat Named Bob'' is a 2016 British biographical drama film directed by Roger Spottiswoode and written by Tim John and Maria Nation.
