Courtney Anne Ryan (born September 21, 1990) is a 2.0 point American wheelchair basketball player and member of the United States women's national wheelchair basketball team. In 2017, she played for the Sydney Metro Blues in the Women's National Wheelchair Basketball League in Australia. Early life Courtney Anne Ryan was born in San Diego, California, on September 21, 1990, the daughter of Kevin and Patti Ryan. She has a brother, Chris, and a sister, Caitlin. She attended Coronado High School, where she played soccer. She was Coronado's Rookie of the Year in 2007 as a junior, and as an education the following year was a first team All-Western League performer, was named to the all-section team, and was Most Valuable Player. In 2008, she entered Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she played soccer for its team, the Roadrunners. Coronado High School (CHS) is a public high school in Coronado, California. It is the only high school in the Coronado Unified School District. The Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) is located on the campus of CHS. The California Department of Education gave it a California Distinguished School award in 2011 and two Model Continuation High School awards in 2014 and 2018. The boundary includes Naval Amphibious Base Coronado and Naval Air Station North Island. History Coronado High School was established in 1913. In 1939, the original building was knocked down and rebuilt as part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration. It was renovated again in 1961 and 2006. 2014 Women's World Wheelchair Basketball Championship
Separate men's and women's Wheelchair Basketball World Championship tournaments were held in 2014. The women's tournament was held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Canada between 20 and 28 June 2014. It was the largest women's wheelchair basketball world championship in history, with 12 national teams participating. Each team selected a squad of 12 players for the tournament. Medalists Awards Inge Huitzing (Netherlands) was named the most valuable player of the tournament. She was the tournament's top point scorer with 175 points, an average of 21.8 points per game.
