Route 182 is a state highway in Hackettstown, New Jersey, United States. The highway serves as a connector of Route 57 to U.S. Route 46 (US 46). The southern end of Route 182 is at a three-way intersection, where Route 57 heads westbound towards Phillipsburg. Also present at this intersection is County Route 517 (CR 517), which is signed as Route 24, but not maintained by the state. CR 517 runs concurrent with Route 182 to its north end at US 46, and turns west with US 46 before splitting in downtown Hackettstown. Route 182 was first an alignment of pre-1927 Route 12, but was not maintained by the state. In 1927, there was a renumbering, and it became part of Route S-24, which was a spur of Route 24. Route 57 is a state highway located in Warren County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It runs from an interchange with U.S. Route 22 (US 22) in Lopatcong Township to an intersection with Route 182 and County Route 517 (CR 517) in Hackettstown. The route passes through mostly rural areas of farmland and mountains in Warren County. It also passes through Washington, where Route 57 crosses Route 31. The route is designated a scenic byway, the Warren Heritage Scenic Byway, by the state of New Jersey due to the physical environments it passes through as well as from historical sites along the way such as the Morris Canal. Fairmount, New Jersey
Fairmount is an unincorporated community located along County Route 517 in Tewksbury Township of Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The community was first known as Parkersville, named after proprietor James Parker (1725–1797). The southern section of the community is known as Lower Fairmount. History The first European settlers arrived here and named the area Fox Hill, after a local farmer. The Fairmount Presbyterian Church was founded in 1747 as a German Reformed congregation in a log cabin. The current church was built from 1851 to 1852 with Greek Revival and Shingle styles. The Methodist Episcopal Church of Fairmount was built in 1837. The current Fairmount United Methodist Church was built in 1868 with Romanesque Revival and Italianate styles. A mill was built in the early 1800s on the Rockaway Creek. By the 1880s, Fairmount had two churches, two stores, a sawmill, gristmill, schoolhouse, and the largest tannery in the county.
