County Of Trastámara
The County of Trastámara (Spanish ''Condado de Trastámara'') was a tenancy of the crown in the Kingdom of Galicia in the Middle Ages. Its name comes from the Latin ''tra(n)s Tamar(is)'', meaning "beyond orth ofthe Tambre", a river which runs through Galicia. It was regularly granted to men of a single family, the House of Traba from the 11th century into the 13th, after which it was often given for life to others, including Alvar Núñez Osorio and the future King Henry II of Castile, whose dynasty is thus known as the House of Trastámara. On 4February 1445 in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, it was granted as a hereditary possession to Pedro Álvarez Osorio by Juan II of Castile. Gonzalo Fernández De Traba
Gonzalo Fernández de Traba (died 1160) was a Galician nobleman and the head of the Traba family. He was the eldest son and successor of Fernando Pérez de Traba by his wife Sancha González. By 1 August 1150 Gonzalo had married a certain Elvira Rodríguez, a woman of unknown origins, with whom, on that date, he donated his portion of San Julián de Ezebreiro to the Cistercian monastery of Monfero. By 12 January 1156 he was re-married to Berenguela Rodríguez, daughter of Rodrigo Vélaz and Urraca Álvarez and sister of Álvaro Rodríguez, thus relating himself by marriage to the Vela family. His sons, all by his first wife, were Fernando, Gómez and Rodrigo. He also two daughters by his first wife: Urraca, who married Fruela Ramírez, and Aldonza, who married Lope Díaz I de Haro. José María Osorio de Moscoso y Carvajal (Madrid, 12 April 1828 - Cabra, 4 November 1881) was a Spanish aristocrat and politician who had numerous noble titles such as Duke of Sessa and Count of Cabra. He was also the husband of the Infanta Luisa Teresa of Spain. Biography He was born in the Palace of Altamira (Madrid), as son of Vicente Pío Osorio de Moscoso y Ponce de León, 1st Duke of Sessa, and Luisa de Carjaval y Queralt. Vicente Pío Osorio de Moscoso y Ponce de León, 13th Count of Altamira, GE, OM, LH (22 July 1801 – 22 February 1864), was a Spanish peer, Head of the House of Osorio. The House of Osorio is an old and influential Spanish noble family, which originated from the Kingdom of Castile. History They descend from count Osorio Martínez, a prominent nobleman in the first half of the 12th century who was member of the Flagínez family and husband to a granddaughter of king Alfonso VI of León. Rodrigo Gómez de Traba, also called Ruy Gómez de Trastámara ( 1201–1260), was a Kingdom of Galicia, Galician nobleman of the House of Traba. He was the third son of Count Gómez González de Traba and his second wife, Miraglia, daughter of Count Ermengol VII of Urgell. His parents' marriage took place before 1182. Rodrigo's brothers were Fernando, Gonzalo and Velasco. His uncle was Rodrigo González de Traba.
