Danny Coulombe
Daniel Paul Coulombe (born October 26, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously played in MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins. Amateur career Coulombe attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a senior he was 9–0 with a 0.75 earned run average (ERA) and 138 strikeouts. He was named to the Rawlings All-America team, and was a Baseball America Third-team All-American and State Player of the Year. He set several school records including career strikeouts (288), single season strikeouts (138) and single game strikeouts (20). He was part of two state championship teams and the 2006 Connie Mack World Series champions. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Coulombe in the 17th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft, but he did not sign. Guy Coulombe, (June 15, 1936 – June 22, 2011) was a senior public servant in the Canadian province of Quebec. At various times the leader of Hydro-Quebec and the Sûreté du Québec and the general manager of Montreal, Coulombe was described as Quebec's "go-to mandarin on tough issues." Early life Coulombe was born to an upper-middle-class family in Quebec City. Patrick Coulombe
Patrick Coulombe (born April 23, 1985) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for the Ducs d'Angers of the French Ligue Magnus. Playing career As a youth, Coulombe played in the 1998 and 1999 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with the Rimouski Océanic minor ice hockey team. Coulombe played junior ice hockey with the Rimouski Océanic of the QMJHL, joining them in 2001. In his draft year of 2002–03, he emerged as a key component of the Océanic blueline and was selected to represent Canada at the IIHF World U18 Championships. However, he was passed over in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft as he was judged to be too small to play defence effectively at the pro level. Benoit Coulombe (born 1958 in Granby, Quebec) is a Canadian scientist whose research focuses on the mechanisms by which regulated protein–protein, protein–DNA and protein–RNA interactions control the activity of RNA polymerase II, the molecular machine that synthesizes all messenger RNA (mRNA) and some small-nuclear RNA (snRNA) in eukaryotes. Coulombe obtained his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 1981 and his PhD in Molecular Biology in 1988 at the University of Montreal, before undertaking postdoctoral work at the University of Toronto and the Free University of Brussels. In 1993 he moved to the University of Sherbrooke as an Assistant Professor, later attaining the tenured rank of Full Professor. Carmen Coulombe (1946 – January 24, 2008) was a Canadian artist. Born in Courcelles, Quebec, Coulombe studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Quebec City until 1971. She became a certified teacher in 1972 while attending Laval University. Known mostly for her small-scale prints and drawings, she exhibited mostly in Montreal, but she came to wider attention in the early 1980s due to her participation in a group show of feminist art. In 1972 she was among the artists who cofounded the print workshop Engramme; she was the first to have a solo exhibit there. Clotilde Coulombe
Clotilde Coulombe (4 April 1892 – 13 May 1985) was a Canadian pianist and Roman Catholic nun. She was the sister-in-law of musician Omer Létourneau. Life and career Born in Quebec City, Coulombe was a student of pianist Joseph-Arthur Bernier. In 1911 she was the first recipient of the Prix d'Europe study grant. This prize enabled her to pursue further studies in Paris with Lucien Berton (voice), Alfredo Casella (piano), Camille Chevillard (chamber music), Alfred Cortot (piano), and Félix Fourdrain (harmony). After her return to Canada in 1914, Coulombe spent a year performing as a concert pianist and was also active as a music educator. She then entered a religious order in Quebec and devoted several years to religious life. Ill health eventually forced her to return to public life and, after her recovery, she married Dr Gaston Ouellette.
