Cotai Ecological Zones
Cotai ( zh, t=路氹城, cy=Louhtáhm Sìhng; ) is a piece of reclaimed land on the top of the Seac Pai Bay between Taipa and Coloane islands in Macau that has connected two independent islands since 2005. The name, which is a portmanteau of Coloane and Taipa, can also refer to the island formed by the reclamation. In the second sense, the Special Administrative Region of Macau now consists of the Macau Peninsula, plus Cotai Island, about a mile to the south. Cotai was created to provide Macau with a new gambling and tourism area, since Macau is so densely populated and land is scarce. Many hotels and casinos can now be found on the island. Parishes Of Macau
By the end of Portuguese Macau, Portuguese rule, Macau was administratively divided into two municipalities: Municipality of Macau, Macau and Municipality of Ilhas, Ilhas, and seven civil parishes (). Parishes were administrative subdivisions of the municipalities. After the 1999 Handover of Macau, transfer of sovereignty over Macau from Portugal to China, municipalities were formally abolished on 31 December 2001 by Law No. 17/2001. Since the abolition of the municipalities, parishes are still officially recognized divisions but for symbolic reasons only, while some of the municipal services are now handled by the Municipal Affairs Bureau. The Parisian Macao
The Parisian Macao () is a casino resort on the Cotai Strip in Cotai, Macau, China owned by Las Vegas Sands, which features a half-scale Eiffel Tower as one of its landmarks. It was originally expected to be operational in late 2015, with that later changed to August 2016. The hotel officially opened on 13 September 2016. The Londoner Macao
The Londoner Macao () is a casino and resort on the Cotai Strip, in Macau. On 5 August 2011, Sands China announced that the $4 billion property, long referred to as parcels five and six, would be officially named Sands Cotai Central (). The first portion of the resort opened on 11 April 2012. The resort was rebranded as The Londoner Macao in 2021. The resort's redesign was completed in May 2023. MGM Cotai is a casino resort in Cotai, Macau, China. Opened on February 13, 2018, it is MGM Resorts International, MGM Resorts International's second property in Macau, after the MGM Macau.
