Costa's hummingbird ('' Calypte costae'') is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It breeds in the arid, semi-arid and Mediterranean climate zones of the Southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, mainly in Southern California and the Baja California Peninsula. H. Jonathon Costas (born May 14, 1957) is an American singer, musician and politician serving as mayor of Valparaiso, Indiana. He is a member of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, an elder law attorney, and a small business owner.
