Costa Verde (Peruvian Region)
Costa Verde () is a geographical area made up of a coastal strip located in the bay of Lima in the cities of Lima and Callao. It covers from the outcrop of the La Punta peninsula in the district of La Punta, in Callao, to the La Chira hill in the district of Chorrillos, Lima. The area is characterised by its cliffs, which in the upper part are located in the city of Lima, while in the lower part are the beaches facing the shores of the Peruvian sea. Due to its location, Lima stands out for being the only capital in South America that faces the Pacific Ocean. Near the slopes of the cliff, in the lower part, is the semi-express vehicular route that allows access to several riverside districts. It also has cycle paths and pedestrian paths. Lima Bay (), also known as Miraflores Bay (), is a bay located of the coast of Lima, Peru. Its shore is located on the central coast of the Lima Province and the southern end of Callao, both part of the metropolitan area of Lima. Administratively it belongs to both Lima and Callao. Peninsula Of La Punta
The Peninsula of La Punta is a peninsula located at the district of the same name in Callao, Peru. It is the point that separates the bays of Miraflores and Callao, both part of the territorial waters of Peru. Overview The peninsula has an extension of 2 kilometres and is located entirely within the District of La Punta. Likewise, the peninsula is divided into two banks: the north, called ''Cantolao'', where the waters are calm, and the south, called ''Mar Brava'', because of the turbulent waters. La Punta District
La Punta is a district of the Constitutional Province of Callao in Peru, and one of the seven districts that make up the port city of Callao. It is located on a peninsula in the western part of the province and is almost entirely surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, except on its northeastern side, where it is bordered by downtown Callao. Chorrillos District
Chorrillos (Spanish language, Spanish for "trickle of water"), founded as San Pedro de los Chorrillos, is a Districts of Peru, district of Lima Province in Lima, Peru. A middle-income residential district, it is located next to the Pacific Ocean and forms part of the city's area known as the Costa Verde (Peruvian region), Costa Verde, which is home to a number of beaches, as well as private clubs and the country's Chorrillos Military School, national military school. The ''Mar de Grau'' () is the official name for the body of water in the Pacific Ocean under the control of the South American country of Peru. Costa Verde (Peru)
The Circuito de playas de la Costa Verde, also simply the Costa Verde, is a highway located along the coast of Callao and Lima, Peru. It unites the districts of La Punta, La Perla, San Miguel, Magdalena del Mar, San Isidro, Miraflores, Barranco and Chorrillos. History The land where the road is currently located was originally the location of large cliffs with no road access. Before the construction of the highway, some roads and balnearios had preceded the project under the second government of Augusto B. Leguía. The land was reclaimed to make way for the project using land dug up from the construction of the Paseo de la República, an idea by then mayor of Miraflores .
