Cosenza Calcio S.r.l. is an Italian football club, based in Cosenza, Calabria. Currently the team plays in . For the 2025/2026 season it shall play in the Serie C History Cosenza Calcio The club was founded in 1926 as "Cosenza Foot-Ball Club" (the year 1914 is a reference to the first historic match played in the town of Cosenza on 23 February 1914) and enjoyed a long time in the professional leagues, spending several years in the Serie B. They also won the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1983. In 2003, Cosenza 1914 was expelled from professional league. In 2003 an illegitimate phoenix club was found as ''A.S. Cosenza F.C.''. In 2004, old Cosenza won the appeal and was admitted to 2004–05 Serie D. Thus that season there was a derby. In 2005 new Cosenza switched its denomination into A.S. La Sila
La Sila, also simply Sila, is the name of the mountainous plateau and historic region located in Calabria, southern Italy. The Sila National Park is known to have the purest air in Europe. Geography The Sila occupies part of the provinces of Cosenza, Crotone and Catanzaro, and is divided (from north to south) into the sub-ranges ''Sila Greca'', ''Sila Grande'' and ''Sila Piccola'' ("Greek", "Greater" and "Lesser Sila", respectively). The highest peaks are the Botte Donato (1,928 m), in the Sila Grande, and Monte Gariglione (1,764 m) in the Sila Piccola. The Sila Greca is the northernmost section and is now mostly cultivated rather than thick woods. Alessandro Micai (born 24 July 1993) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga I club CFR Cluj. Club career Youth career Micai was born in Quistello, near Mantua, in 1993, and began his football career with his local club, Mantova. The 2013–14 Seconda Divisione season is the thirty-sixth and final football league season of Italian Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the sixth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It is divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league currently is composed of 36 teams divided into two divisions (''Girone A'' and ''B'') divided geographically. The first eight teams in each ''girone'', plus one team winning the relegation playoff round from each division will remain in Lega Pro. The 2014–15 Lega Pro was the first season of the unified Lega Pro division in place of the old Prima Divisione and Seconda Divisione. The league is composed of 60 teams divided into three different groups of 20 each. Teams A total of 60 teams will contest the league, divided into three groups of 20 teams. The 2010–11 Lega Pro Prima Divisione season was the thirty-third football league season of Italian Lega Pro Prima Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the third since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It will be divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league will also be composed of 36 teams divided into two divisions of 18 teams each, whose teams will be divided geographically. Teams will play only other teams in their own division, once at home and once away for a total of 34 matches each.
