Cory Abbott
Cory James Abbott (born September 20, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization. He played college baseball at Loyola Marymount University. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cubs and Washington Nationals. Amateur career Abbott attended Junipero Serra High School in San Diego, California. As a senior, he went 7–2 with a 1.52 earned run average (ERA). Undrafted out of high school in the 2014 MLB draft, he enrolled and played college baseball at Loyola Marymount University. In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. 2014 MLB Draft
The 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft was held from June 5 through June 7, 2014, to assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The first two rounds were conducted on June 5, followed by rounds three through ten on June 6, and the last 30 rounds on June 7. Kevin Gausman
Kevin John Gausman (born January 6, 1991), nicknamed "Gaus", is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco Giants. Before his professional career, Gausman attended Louisiana State University (LSU) and played college baseball for the LSU Tigers, with whom he was an All-American. The Eugene Emeralds (nicknamed the Ems) are a Minor League Baseball team in the northwest United States, based in Eugene, Oregon. Perfect Game (baseball)
In baseball, a perfect game is a game in which one or more pitchers complete a minimum of nine innings with no batter from the opposing team reaching any base. To achieve a perfect game, a team must not allow any opposing player to reach base by any means: no hits, walks, hit batsmen, uncaught third strikes, catcher's or fielder's interference, or fielding errors; in short, "27 up, 27 down" (for a nine-inning game).
