''Corse-Matin'' is a French-language daily local newspaper published in Ajaccio, Corsica, France. History and profile ''Corse-Matin'' was part of Lagardère Group through its subsidiary Groupe Hachette until August 2007 when it was sold to Hersant Media Group. The paper is owned by Nice-Matin Group. In December 2012 French businessman Bernard Tapie bought a share in the daily. The headquarters of the paper is in Ajaccio. The sister newspapers of ''Corse-Matin'' are '' Nice-Matin'', ''Monaco-Matin'' and '' Var-Matin''. In 1998 another local daily of the island, ''La Corse'', merged with ''Corse-Matin''. Ajaccio
Ajaccio (, , ; French language, French: ; or ; , locally: ; ) is the capital and largest city of Corsica, France. It forms a communes of France, French commune, prefecture of the Departments of France, department of Corse-du-Sud, and head office of the ''Territorial collectivity, Collectivité territoriale de Corse'' (capital city of Corsica). It is also the largest settlement on the island. Ajaccio is located on the west coast of the island of Corsica, southeast of Marseille. Bernard Tapie
Bernard Roger Tapie (; 26 January 1943 – 3 October 2021) was a French businessman, politician and occasional actor, singer, and TV host. He was Minister of City Affairs in the government of Pierre Bérégovoy. He was the manager of a group of companies, notably owner of Adidas and ''Olympique de Marseille'', manager of the Bernard Tapie Group and owner of the ''La Provence'' Group, which publishes the newspaper of the same name, as well as '' Corse-Matin''. At the beginning of 1984, he presented his cycling team ''La Vie claire'', then bought OM a few years later. In the 1990s, engaged in politics as a left-wing radical, he was twice Minister of the City in the Bérégovoy government, deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône twice, European deputy (his list obtained 12% in the 1994 elections) as well as general councilor for Bouches-du-Rhône.
