Corrections Victoria
Corrections Victoria is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety in the Victorian Government, and is responsible for the provision of custodial and community-based services as an important element of the criminal justice system in the state of Victoria, Australia. In March 2018, Dr Emma Cassar was announced as the new Commissioner of Corrections Victoria to commence in June 2018. The services provided include correctional centre custody of remand and sentenced inmates, parole, pre-sentence reports and advice to courts and releasing authorities, community service orders and other forms of community-based offender supervision. Offenders in custody and those supervised in the community are assessed for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of re-offending. HM Prison Loddon
HM Prison Loddon is an Australian low-medium security prison, located in Central Victoria, Australia, approximately four kilometres from the centre of Castlemaine and 128 km north-west of Melbourne. Loddon is a campus style prison, within a secure perimeter, providing accommodation for 468 medium security prisoners. The landscaped grounds, modern buildings and wide range of programs and activities provide an environment and facilities which, as closely as possible, resembles those available in the general community. In July 2014 Loddon prison expanded adding a new unit Middleton which is a restricted-minimum rated men's prison. Ravenhall Correctional Centre
Ravenhall Correctional Centre is a medium-security male prison currently located in Ravenhall, Victoria, Australia. The prison is able to house over 1300 prisoners, and includes capacity for 75 forensic prisoners. It is Victoria's largest prison. The prison is operated by GEO Group Australia, under contract to the Victorian Government. Port Phillip Correctional Centre
Port Phillip Prison is a maximum security prison located at Truganina, Victoria, Australia. It is Victoria's largest maximum security prison, able to accommodate up to 1117 prisoners. The prison is privately operated on behalf of the Government of Victoria by G4S Australia Pty Ltd. Construction and history Originally called ''Port Phillip Correctional Centre'', the facility was the third privately operated prison to open in Victoria. Metropolitan Remand Centre
The Metropolitan Remand Centre (abbreviated and commonly referred to as MRC) is an Australian prison located at Ravenhall, Victoria, approximately 20 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD on the Western Freeway ( Deer Park Bypass). The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is an Australian remand and reception prison located in Spencer Street, West Melbourne, Victoria. The facility is operated by Corrections Victoria.
