Cornel Chiriac
Cornel Chiriac (May 8, 1941 March 4, 1975) was a Romanian journalist, radio producer, record producer and jazz drummer. Early life Chiriac was born on May 8, 1941, in , a village in Bessarabia, Soviet Union (previously in Cetatea Albă County, Kingdom of Romania, now in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine). He went to high school in Pitești and graduated from the University of Bucharest's Faculty of English Language. Chiriac made his radio debut in 1963, with the show ''Jazz of Yesterday and Today'', later ''Jazz magazin''. Beginning on July 10, 1967, he produced for Radio România the most popular music show of its day, ''Metronom''. Together with Geo Limbășanu, he presented listeners with the latest information from the pop, rock and jazz scenes. Johnny Răducanu
Johnny Răducanu (born Răducan Crețu; 1 December 1931 – 19 September 2011) was a Romanian jazz pianist of Romani ethnic background, whose family has a long musical tradition dating back to the 17th century. He was born in Brăila and started playing the double bass at the age of 19 before switching to piano. During his musical career, some of his many collaborations outside Romania were those with Art Farmer (trumpet) and Slide Hampton (trombone), and Friedrich Gulda (piano). In 1987, Răducanu received an honorary membership in the Louis Armstrong Academy in New Orleans. He was the founder of the Romanian Jazz school, and during a musical career spanning over half a century, he discovered, nurtured and trained several generations of Romanian jazz musicians. ''The Young Ones'' (US title: ''Wonderful to Be Young!'') is a 1961 British comedy musical film directed by Sidney J. Furie and starring Cliff Richard, Robert Morley as his character's father, Carole Gray as his love interest, and the Shadows as his band. The screenplay was written by Peter Myers and Ronald Cass, who also wrote most of the songs. Herbert Ross choreographed the dance scenes. Golden Stag Festival
The Golden Stag Festival ( ro, Cerbul de Aur) is the most popular Romanian song contest and awards, held annually in the town of Braşov, Romania. History The Golden Stag was first held in 1968, but after 1971 it was banned by the Communist leadership. After the fall of Communism, new editions were organised starting from 1992. Between 2010 and 2017 the festival wasn't held due to lack of funds. It returned in 2018. Ploiești
Ploiești ( , , ), formerly spelled Ploești, is a city and county seat in Prahova County, Romania. Part of the historical region of Muntenia, it is located north of Bucharest. The area of Ploiești is around , and it borders the Blejoi commune in the north, Bărcănești and Brazi communes in the south, Târgșoru Vechi commune in the west, and Bucov and Berceni communes in the east.
