Corn Fed (album)
''Corn Fed'' is the debut studio album by American country music artist Shannon Brown, released on February 28, 2006, via Warner Bros. Nashville. This was Brown's first album to be officially released, as her two previously recorded albums for Arista Nashville and BNA (''A Tour of My Heart'' and ''Untangle My Heart'') went unreleased following lackluster success of their singles at radio. John Rich of the successful duo Big & Rich produced this album, making it similar to the sounds of other country acts at the time such as Gretchen Wilson. ''Corn Fed'' was received favorably by music critics. Two singles were released, the title track and "Pearls". "Corn Fed," the title track, became her first chart entry since 2002's "Untangle My Heart," hitting number 47 on the US Hot Country Songs chart. "Pearls" meanwhile, did not chart. Shannon Brown (musician)
Shannon Leigh Brown (born July 23, 1973) is an American country music singer from Spirit Lake, Iowa. Although she has recorded three albums on various labels, only one of these – 2006's '' Corn Fed'' — was released. In her career, she has charted four singles on the ''Billboard'' country charts, with her highest-charting single being a 2002 cover of Deborah Allen's "Baby I Lied," at number 40. She also contributed the song "Half a Man" to the soundtrack for the 1998 film '' Happy, Texas''. Biography After several years of touring the Midwest with her father running the soundboard and her mom running lights, Shannon decided to make the move to Nashville, Tennessee. ''Underneath the Same Moon'' is the second solo studio album recorded by John Rich. The album was recorded in 1999, after Rich departed from the country group Lonestar and before he joined Big Kenny in the duo Big & Rich. However, like Big Kenny's 1999 album '' Live a Little'', this album was not released until 2006, after Big & Rich had released their first album. Rich also self-released an album in 2001, ''Rescue Me'', though it was recorded after ''Underneath the Same Moon.'' "I Pray for You" was a chart single on the Hot Country Songs charts for Rich in 2000, peaking at number 53. Dobro () is an American brand of resonator guitars owned by Gibson and manufactured by its subsidiary Epiphone. The term "dobro" is also used as a generic term for any wood-bodied, single-cone resonator guitar.
