Dumitru Alexandru Copil (born 14 March 1990) is a Romanian footballer, who plays as a midfielder. Career Early career Copil began his career at Atletico Arad, and spent time at the Luceafărul București development centre. He came to prominence in December 2006, when it was reported that Liverpool F.C., Liverpool and Celtic F.C., Celtic were interested in signing him. He was described in the press as "the new Gheorghe Hagi, Hagi". Alertă Răpire Copil (literally ''Alert Abduction Child'' in English) is the current official child abduction alert system in use in Romania. The mechanism is powered by the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Interior. The system has been launched on April 18, 2011. The authorized entity that can launch the mechanism is any officer of the Romanian Police. History Before Alertă Rapire Copil was implemented, there was no official public awareness system for such cases. The only means people could find out about a child abduction was through the website of the local police, or very limited public announcement devices. In the late year of 2007, Romania was the first country in the North-Eastern European Union to join the Call Child Alert Project, an initiative funded and supported by the European Commission. Copil (son Of Malinalxochitl)
In Aztec mythology, Copil was the son of the goddess Malinalxochitl and Malinalco king, Chimalcuauhtli. When grown he sought revenge for his mother's abandonment by her brother, Huītzilōpōchtli. When the Mexica were encamped at Chapultepec, he confronted his uncle. Hostility brewed, and Copil was killed on the hill by Mexicas under orders of Huītzilōpōchtli, while Copil was awaiting to watch the battle between the Mexicas and tribes he incited to fight them. He was slain by priest Cuauhtlequetzqui, who later married Copil's daughter, Xicomoyahual. He was decapitated and his head was placed atop the hill and then an outcrop in Lake Texcoco. His heart was extracted and thrown into the swamp where it grew into nopal.
