Copano Rickey (, foaled March 24, 2010) is a Japanese thoroughbred racehorse. His major wins include the February Stakes (2014, 2015), the Japan Breeding Farms' Cup Classic, JBC Classic (2014, 2015), the Kashiwa Kinen (2014, 2016, 2017), the 2016 Teio Sho, the Mile Championship Nambu Hai (2016, 2017), and the 2017 Tokyo Daishoten. With 11 GI/JpnI wins, this makes Copano Rickey the Japanese-trained horse with the most wins. He was nicknamed the "great actor of the dirt (). Tokai Stakes
The Tokai Stakes (Japanese 東海ステークス) is a Grade 3 horse race in Japan for Thoroughbreds aged three and over run in July over a distance of 1,400 meters at Chukyo Racecourse. It was first run in 1984 as the Grade 3 Winter Stakes and was promoted to Grade 2 in 1999. It was renamed the Tokai Stakes in 2000. The race was initially run over 2,200 meters but switched to 2,300 meters in 1986. The distance was reduced to 1,900 meters in 2010 and 1,800 meters in 2013. In 2025, the race schedule will be moved over from January to July, the distance will be shortened to 1,400 meters, and the status demoted to Grade 3. ; born July 8, 1980) is a Japanese jockey born in Mibu, Tochigi. Profile Tosaki started his career as a jockey for the Ohi Racecourse, part of the National Association of Racing, in 1998. He rode and won his first race on April 12 of that year, when he rode Miyasan Yashima to victory. Tosaki rode his first JRA race on June 26, 2005, when he rode Spring Lagos at a maiden race in Fukushima Racecourse, who finished at 10th place. Yuichi Fukunaga
is a Japanese horse trainer and former jockey who has won 29 Grade 1 races in Japan and abroad. He is affiliated with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) in Rittō. His father is former jockey who was said to be a "genius" during his active career, and his uncle is Takashi Kitamura, also a former jockey. His wife is former Fuji TV announcer . Since July 2016, he has a management contract with Horipro together with Yuga Kawada, the entertainment production with which his wife is also affiliated. Christophe Patrice Lemaire (Japanese:, born 20 May 1979) is a French-born jockey. He has enjoyed much of his success on the Japanese flat racing circuit, with the most wins at Japan Racing Association racetracks for five consecutive years since 2017. Career Lemaire began racing in 1999, after he obtained the license required for a French jockey. The Tokyo Daishōten (東京大賞典) is a Japanese horse race on dirt track for thoroughbreds three years old and above. It is run over a distance of 2,000 meters (about 10 furlongs) at Ōi Racecourse in Shinagawa, Tokyo in December. History The race was first held in 1955. At first it was named ''Aki-no-Kura'' (秋の鞍), meaning 'The Race of Autumn race meeting', and raced over a distance of 2,600 meters. In 1966, its name was changed to ''Tokyo Daishōten''.
