Cool World (soundtrack)
''Songs from the Cool World'' is the soundtrack album for the 1992 Ralph Bakshi film ''Cool World'' and features songs from David Bowie, Thompson Twins, Moby, and other dance and rock artists from the time. The 15 tracks included on the CD release are trimmed to 11 on the vinyl version. In 2019, Warner Bros. Records reissued the album as a double-LP set on vinyl containing the complete 15-song track list, in standard black and "flesh colored" editions. The soundtrack would go on to chart in the ''Billboard'' 200. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music. Richard Melville Hall (September 11, 1965), known professionally as Moby, is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, disc jockey, and animal rights activist. He has sold 20 million records worldwide. AllMusic considers him to be "among the most important electronic dance music, dance music figures of the early 1990s, helping bring dance music to a mainstream audience both in the United States and the United Kingdom". After taking up guitar and piano at age nine, he played in several underground punk rock bands through the 1980s before turning to electronic dance music. In 1989, he moved to New York City and became a prolific figure as a DJ, producer and remixer. Tom Bailey (musician)
Thomas Alexander Bailey (born 18 January 1956) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, composer and record producer. Bailey came to prominence in the early 1980s as the lead vocalist for the new wave band Thompson Twins, which released five singles that entered the top ten charts in the United Kingdom during the 1980s: " Love On Your Side", " We Are Detective", " Hold Me Now", " Doctor! Doctor!", and " You Take Me Up". He was the only member of the band to have formal musical training. From 1994, Bailey was also a member of its later incarnation, Babble, releasing two commercially unsuccessful studio albums. He released his debut solo studio album ''Science Fiction'' in 2018. Pure is an alternative rock band, formed in Vancouver in 1991. First signed to the Reprise label by Rob Cavallo and Michael Ostin, the band reached a greater audience once their song "Greedy" was featured on the soundtrack album '' Songs from the Cool World'', and the single "Blast" reached No. 22 on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock chart in 1993. "Next Is the E" (alternately known as "I Feel It") is a song by American electronica musician Moby, released in October 1992 by Instinct and Equator as the third single from his self-titled debut album (1992). Release "Next Is the E" was released on October 28, 1992. The single peaked at number eight on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. It was featured on the soundtrack of the 1992 film ''Cool World''. My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult (often shortened to Thrill Kill Kult or TKK) is an American electronic industrial rock band originally based in Chicago and founded by Groovie Mann (born Frankie Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (born Marston Daley). They became known in the 1980s as pioneers of the industrial music genre – although by the early 1990s they had changed to a more disco-oriented sound – and as a frequent target of censorship groups, including the PMRC, which objected to the band's humorous and satirical references to Satan, Jesus and sex in their song lyrics and stage shows. During the early 1990s, Thrill Kill Kult had several hits on the U.S. dance club and alternative charts.
