Contemporânea
''Contemporânea'' (Portuguese for "Contemporary") was a Portuguese review magazine published in Lisbon from 1922 until 1926. It was headed by and had saved the graphic heading, it brought a literary direction secured for the main drafter Oliveira Mouta, which presented in 1915, attracted a number specimen, but only became viable in a part of May 1922 due to the support of the industrialist and collector Agostinho Fernandes (1886-1972), which later became the review's editor. The project had as the target of the titles ''In Contemporânea crystallized the modernism in the 1920s and you taste something mundane, its political tendency of the right''. Its publications totalled three numbers and the review turned it into a point of support by many "new" artists, which reprinted profusely. João Vaz
João José Vaz (9 March 1859, in Setúbal – 17 February 1931, in Lisbon) was a Portuguese painter and decorator who specialized in maritime subjects. Mily Possoz, sometimes written as Milly (although she never signed like that) (18881968), was a Portuguese artist of Belgian origin. She was one of the most prominent figures of the first generation of Portuguese modernist artists. Early life Emilia Possoz was born on 4 December 1888, in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, She was the daughter of Henri Émile Possoz (18561912), a former Belgian army artillery officer and chemical engineer, and Jeanne Anne Rosalie Leroy (18621937), both Belgian citizens, who were born in Antwerp and Liège, respectively and had married in London in early 1888. Alfredo Augusto Lopes Pimenta (3 December 1882, Guimarães – 15 October 1950, Lisbon) was a Portuguese historian, poet and writer. Biography Alfredo Pimenta, son of José Manuel Lopes Pimenta and Silvina Rosa, was born at Penouços in São Mamede de Alda, Guimarães. In 1890, living at Braga with his parents, he attended the Colégio Académico de Guadalupe. In 1893 he returned to Guimaraes and studied at the College of St. Nicholas. In 1910, he graduated in Law from the University of Coimbra and was a professor at the Liceu Passos Manuel in Lisbon from 1911 to 1913.
