Billy Consolo
William Angelo Consolo ( ; August 18, 1934 – March 27, 2008) was an American professional baseball shortstop and coach, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for five different teams between and , most notably the Boston Red Sox and Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins. Primarily used in a reserve role, Consolo enjoyed his best season with the 1957 Red Sox, batting .270 in 68 games. He later served as the bench coach for the Detroit Tigers for 15 seasons, from 1979 to 1992 and again in 1995 under manager Sparky Anderson, including for the Tigers' 1984 World Series champions. Bonnie Consolo
Bonnie J. Consolo (October 12, 1938 – December 27, 2005), née Bonnie Jean Pflug, was a Kentucky native and motivational speaker who was born without hands or arms. Consolo was the third of five children born to Wendell and Ruby (Sorrell) Pflug, and the only one with born with a disability in the family. Consolo was raised on her parents' farm in rural Kentucky, and graduated from high school in Frenchburg, Kentucky. Consolo tried artificial arms; however, she found them uncomfortable and never acclimated to them. She married Frank Consolo in 1966 near Hayward, California. Consolo's life captured the attention of the American media in the 1970s when the independent documentary film ''A Day in the Life of Bonnie Consolo'' was released in 1975. At the time, Consolo was a housewife living in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband Frank and their two young sons, Mark and Matthew. Benjamin Consolo (; 1806–1887) was an Italian Hebrew writer and translator. Consolo was born in Ancona, where he studied at the Talmud Torah under the instruction of Rabbi David A. Vivant. He studied Italian with Count Pietro Alety, a student of Dante, and then Latin with Lorenzo Barili. Federico Consolo
Federico Consolo (4 April 1841 – 14 December 1906) was an Italian violinist and composer. Background and earlier life Federico Consolo was born to Benjamin Consolo at Ancona in 1841. After studying the violin with Ferdinando Giorgetti in Florence and Vieuxtemps in Brussels, and composition with Fétis and Liszt, he played with great success at almost all the European courts and in the Orient. In 1884, however, he was compelled by a nervous affliction to discontinue violin-playing. He removed to Florence, and devoted himself to composition.
