Conservative A-List
The Conservative A-List, also called Priority List, was a list of United Kingdom candidates drawn up by Conservative Central Office at the behest of David Cameron following his 2005 Conservative Party leadership election, election as party leader in December 2005, aimed as a means of broadening the number of Conservative Members of Parliament, potential Peer of the realm, peers and Member of the European Parliament, MEPs from minority groups and women as well as other preferred candidates for candidature. Where the preferred forums for selection were held, at least two members from the list were put to every open primary, and where these were not held the A-list were recommended directly, particularly to the top target seats. Louise Daphne Mensch (''née'' Bagshawe; born 28 June 1971) is a British blogger, novelist, and former Conservative Member of Parliament. In the 1990s she became known as a writer of chick lit novels under her maiden name Louise Bagshawe. She was elected Conservative MP for Corby at the 2010 UK general election. 2021 London Mayoral Election
The 2021 London mayoral election was held on 6 May 2021 to elect the mayor of London. It was held simultaneously with 2021 London Assembly election, elections for the London Assembly, 2021 United Kingdom local elections, other local elections across England and Wales, and Devolution in the United Kingdom, devolved elections in 2021 Scottish Parliament election, Scotland and 2021 Senedd election, Wales. Mayor Of London
The mayor of London is the chief executive of the Greater London Authority. The role was created in 2000 after the Greater London devolution referendum in 1998, and was the first directly elected mayor in the United Kingdom. Shaun Bailey (London Politician)
Shaun Sharif Bailey, Baron Bailey of Paddington (born 30 May 1971) is a British politician and former journalist. A member of the Conservative Party, Bailey has been a member of the London Assembly since 2016 and the House of Lords since July 2023. Born in North Kensington to a British Jamaican family, Bailey earned a degree in computer-aided engineering from London South Bank University. In 2006, he co-founded a charity called MyGeneration; it ceased operations in 2012 due to financial problems.
