Conor McCormack (footballer)
Conor McCormack (born 18 May 1990) is a professional footballer who plays in the League of Ireland Premier Division with Galway United F.C., Galway United. Club career He started his career with Manchester United, joining on a youth contract when he was 16 years old. After spending two years at the club and becoming disillusioned with the lack of first-team opportunities, McCormack turned down the offer of an extension to his contract. He moved to Italy and joined Serie B side U.S. Triestina Calcio. McCormack did not make a first-team start during his two and a half years there. After a proposed loan deal to a Lega Pro side fell through at the last minute in May 2010, McCormack made his intentions to leave clear. He returned to Ireland to sign for League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers at the beginning of the 2011 season, playing a role in their journey to the Europa League group stages. Carlingford, County Louth
Carlingford (; ) is a coastal town and civil parish in northern County Louth, Ireland. For the purposes of local government, the town is part of the Dundalk Municipal District. It is situated on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough with Slieve Foy mountain as a backdrop, sometimes known as Carlingford Mountain. It is the main town on the Cooley Peninsula. Located on the R176/ R173 roads between Greenore and Omeath village, Carlingford is approximately north east (by road) from Dundalk (15.6 km; 9¾ miles directly), north of Dublin and south of the border with Northern Ireland. The President of Ireland's Cup, also known simply as the President's Cup, is an association football super cup featuring clubs from the Republic of Ireland football league system. It is a one-off match between the winners of the previous season's League of Ireland Premier Division and the FAI Cup, and functions both as a domestic Super cup and an unofficial opener to the football season in Ireland. 2017 FAI Cup
The 2017 FAI Senior Challenge Cup was the 97th season of the knockout national Football competition of Ireland. The winners of this season's cup earned a place in the 2018–19 Europa League and would have entered in the first qualifying round. Cork City were the defending champions and went on to retain the cup after a 5-3 win on penalties against Dundalk in the final on 5 November. The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup (FAI Cup), known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland (as well as Derry City F.C., Derry City from Northern Ireland). The 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 33rd season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league began on Friday 24 February 2017 and concluded on 27 October 2017. Toni Kroos (born 4 January 1990) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, he was known for his vision, pinpoint precision passing, crossing, and set-piece ability.
