Conor Glass
Conor Glass (born 28 September 1997) is a Gaelic footballer and former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He signed with Hawthorn as a category B rookie in October 2015 and was subsequently drafted with their fourth selection and sixty-second overall in the 2016 rookie draft. He retired at the end of the 2020 season and returned to Ireland. Sporting career Glass captained the Derry minors side in the All-Ireland semi-finals. Glass was recruited by Hawthorn as a class B rookie in 2015. Arriving in Australia in July 2016, Glass played 6 games for the Box Hill development squad that included the squad's victorious grand final team. After a full summer pre-season training regime, Glass had played 12 games in the Box Hill's senior team before getting a call up for the Hawthorn team. Watty Graham's Gaelic Athletic Club, Glen ( ga, An Ghleann) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based outside Maghera, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Players are drawn from Maghera and some surrounding townlands. The club competes in Gaelic football, ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. Name The club is named after Watty (Walter) Graham who was a resident of Maghera in the 18th century. He was an educated Presbyterian who became an Elder of his church. Frustrated at the many restrictions on his liberty he joined the United Irishmen. At the time of the 1798 rebellion he was captured and subsequently hanged in Maghera. Hawk-Eye
Hawk-Eye is a computer vision system used in numerous sports such as cricket, tennis, Gaelic football, badminton, hurling, rugby union, association football and volleyball, to visually track the trajectory of the ball and display a profile of its statistically most likely path as a moving image. The onscreen representation of the trajectory results is called Shot Spot. The Sony-owned Hawk-Eye system was developed in the United Kingdom by Paul Hawkins. The system was originally implemented in 2000 for television purposes in cricket. The system works via six (sometimes seven) high-performance cameras, normally positioned on the underside of the stadium roof, which track the ball from different angles. The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Kilcoo of Down who defeated Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin on 12 February 2022 to win their first title. The current trophy is the Andy Merrigan Cup, named after a footballer who played for Castletown Liam Mellows and Wexford who died as a result of a farm accident at the height of his playing career. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). St Brigid's GAA (Roscommon)
St Brigid's GAA Club (''Naomh Bríd'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parishes of Kiltoom and Cam in South County Roscommon, Ireland. They play in green and red colours and their home pitch is at Newpark, Kiltoom. The club was founded in 1944 and is the home club of former Roscommon inter-county player Gerry O'Malley. The club has won one All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, beating Ballymun Kickhams in the All-Ireland Club Final on St Patrick's Day, 17 March 2013. 2023–24 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The 2023–24 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship was the 53rd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club Gaelic football tournament. The draws for the respective provincial championships took place at various stages. The championship ran from 21 October 2023 to 21 January 2024. Kilmacud Crokes were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Glen in the All-Ireland semi-final. The All-Ireland final was played on 21 January 2024 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Glen of Derry and St Brigid's of Roscommon, in what was their first ever championship meeting.
