Bob Conners
Robert Foster Charles Conners (December 12, 1933November 23, 2014), known professionally as Bob Conners, was an American radio personality on Columbus, Ohio's AM radio station 610 WTVN. On his retirement in 2011, he had been on the air in Columbus for over forty years, 33 of them as WTVN morning show host. In total, his broadcasting career lasted more than 60 years. Early life Conners was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on December 12, 1933, to Robert Charles and Zona (née Foster) Conners. He graduated from St. Marys Central Catholic High School in St. Marys, Pennsylvania in 1952. Career Conners began his broadcasting work while in high school at WKBI in St. Marys and continued at WJET in Erie, Pennsylvania. Corey Michael Conners (born January 6, 1992) is a Canadian professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Conners has also played on the PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica and the Web.com Tour. Amateur career Conners was raised in Listowel, Ontario. He won the 2010 Ontario Amateur. Conners played for Kent State University golf team between 2010 and 2014, where he was teammates with fellow Canadian PGA Tour pro golfers Mackenzie Hughes and Taylor Pendrith. Daniel Joseph Conners (February 6, 1942 – April 28, 2019) was an American professional football linebacker who played 11 seasons for the Oakland Raiders of the American Football League (AFL) from 1964 through 1969 and later in the National Football League (NFL) from 1970 through 1974. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and is enshrined in their Hall of Fame. Eugene Conners (December 28, 1930 – June 10, 2010), also known as The Mighty Flea, was an American trombonist and singer. Conners was born in Birmingham, Alabama, United States, and grew up in New Orleans, and may have played with Papa Celestin when he was eleven years old. As a teenager he played at jazz funerals and with territory bands, and served in the Navy during the Korean War. Following this he played with Johnny Otis; his nickname was given to him by Bardu Ali while he was in Otis's band. Jack Conners (born July 10, 1943) is an American Democratic Party politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he represented the 7th Legislative District from 1998 until his resignation in 2011. In the 1997 elections, Republican Diane Allen left the Assembly and ran for and won the Senate seat, while Democrats Herb Conaway and Conners were declared the winners in that year's Assembly race, after a recount which showed that Conaway was the top vote-getter and Conners winning the second seat by a margin of 74 votes. After eight months in office following his being sworn into office in January 1998, the courts threw out the results of the 1997 election due to problems with 160 uncounted ballots from a voting machine that affected the results for the second seat. Conners competed in many British wrestling promotions, most notably New Generation Wrestling (NGW) and What Culture Pro Wrestling (WCPW), where he was a one-time WCPW Champion. Carmen Keith Conners (March 20, 1933 – July 5, 2017) was an American psychologist, best known for establishing the first standards for the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Conners was born on March 20, 1933, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, one of three children of Michael Conners, a machinist, and Merle Conners, who worked in a department store. He earned degrees from the University of Chicago (BA), University of Oxford (MA), and Harvard University (PhD). Conners is credited by many as putting ADHD on the map in the USA and helped develop early assessments for ADHD, including the Conners Comprehensive Behaviour Rating Scale. In later years, he raised concerns about the high rates of diagnosis of ADHD in the United States as compared to Europe, and suggested that ADHD may be diagnosed too frequently in the US.
