The Blue Line is a Chicago "L" line which runs from O'Hare International Airport at the far northwest end of the city, through downtown via the Milwaukee–Dearborn subway and across the West Side, Chicago, West Side to its southwest end in Forest Park, Illinois, Forest Park, with a total of 33 stations (11 on the Forest Park branch, 9 in the Milwaukee–Dearborn subway and 13 on the O'Hare branch). 7000-series (CTA)
The 7000-series of rail cars was ordered by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for the Chicago "L". The base order is for 400 cars and will be used to replace the 1980s-vintage 2600-series (CTA), 2600-series cars, currently assigned to the Blue Line (CTA), Blue, Brown Line (CTA), Brown, and Orange Line (CTA), Orange Lines. If the CTA ordered the additional 446 cars, these would replace the 3200-series (CTA), 3200-series cars from the early 1990s, which are currently assigned to the Blue and Brown Lines. Including all options, which is a total of 846 cars, the order will cost $1.3 billion. The contract called for ten prototypes to be delivered by October 2019. If the rail cars proved to be acceptable, then full production cars would be delivered starting in October 2020, at a rate of 10 cars per month. The cost per car is approximately $1.58 million. Northwest Tollway
Interstate 90 (I-90) in the US state of Illinois runs roughly northwest-to-southeast through the northern part of the state. Kennedy Expressway
The John F. Kennedy Expressway is a nearly freeway in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Portions of the freeway carry I-190, I-90 and I-94. The freeway runs in a southeast–northwest direction between the central city neighborhood of the West Loop and O'Hare International Airport. Interstate 190 (I-190) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of Illinois. I-190 runs west from I-90 to O'Hare International Airport, for a distance of . I-190 is the westernmost leg of the Kennedy Expressway. Route description I-190 has two lanes in either direction between I-90 and I-294 and three lanes west of I-294. The freeway portion of I-190 consists largely of cloverleaf interchanges. The Chicago Transit Authority's Blue Line operates in the median of I-190 for the highway's entire length. O'Hare Station
O'Hare is a Chicago "L" station located at O'Hare International Airport, 17 miles (27 km) northwest of The Loop. The northwestern terminus of the Chicago Transit Authority's Blue Line, it is a subway station with two island platforms serving three tracks, situated under the parking garage for Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Trains are scheduled to depart from O'Hare every 2–7 minutes during rush-hour periods and take about 40 minutes to travel to the Loop. It is the westernmost station of the Chicago 'L' system. Eisenhower Expressway
Interstate 290 (I-290) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway that runs westward from the Jane Byrne Interchange near the Chicago Loop. The portion of I-290 from Interstate 294, I-294 to its east end is officially called the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. In short form, it is known as "the Ike" or the Eisenhower. Before being designated the Eisenhower Expressway, the highway was called the Congress Expressway because of the surface street that was located approximately in its path and onto which I-290 runs at its eastern terminus in the Loop. Yellow Line (CTA)
The Yellow Line, also known as the Skokie Swift, is a branch of the Chicago "L" train system in Chicago, Illinois. The route runs from the Howard Terminal on the north side of Chicago, through the southern part of Evanston and to the Dempster Terminal in Skokie, Illinois, making one intermediate stop at Oakton Street in downtown Skokie. It is the shortest line in the system. At Howard, Yellow Line passengers can transfer to the Purple or Red Lines of the "L". The service normally begins from in Wilmette and ends at on Chicago's north border, passing through the city of Evanston.
