Confidence Man (band)
Confidence Man are an Australian indie electro pop band formed in 2016 in Brisbane, Queensland. They released their debut album ''Confident Music for Confident People'' in April 2018. The front-duo and their band members have been a part of many festivals across Australia, most notably Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival. Background 2016-2022: Formation, ''Confident Music for Confident People'' and ''Tilt'' The band was formed in 2016. The members had met on the Brisbane music scene, and had been in other bands including: The Belligerents, Moses Gunn Collective and The Jungle Giants, and use pseudonyms in Confidence Man. They started writing dance songs together, initially as a "kind of joke", but eventually realised the material was worth pursuing. Port Eliot Festival
The Port Eliot Lit Fest is an annual celebration of all things literary taking place at Port Eliot in Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. It was founded by the late Jago Eliot. Guests who have attended the festival in past years are Hanif Kureishi, James Flint, Hari Kunzru and Louis de Bernières. The 2010 festival, held at the end of July, was widely considered to be the most critically and publicly acclaimed festival yet. Richard Kingsmill
Richard Kingsmill (born 29 January 1954) is an Australian radio announcer, music journalist and currently Group Music Director of triple j, triple j Unearthed, Double J and ABC Local Radio. Career His career at triple j started in 1988 as a producer for station presenters George Wayne, Tracee Hutchison and Tim Ritchie. In 1990, new management at the station forced Kingsmill and many others to re-apply for their jobs. Kingsmill failed to regain his producer position, but landed a presenter position instead. Since then, he has hosted shows that involve an in-depth knowledge of the current state of the alternative music scene, at both a local and international level. "Heaven" is a song by the Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams recorded in 1983, written by Adams and Jim Vallance. It first appeared on the ''A Night in Heaven'' soundtrack album the same year and was later included on Adams' album ''Reckless'' in 1984. It was released as the third single from ''Reckless'' and reached number one on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in June 1985, over a year and a half after the song first appeared on record. Daniel Avery is an English electronic music producer and DJ from Bournemouth. Career Early life and musical beginnings Avery was primarily a fan of guitar music in his youth, performing in local bands inspired by Kyuss and My Bloody Valentine. He became a regular attendee at dance music club night Project Mayhem, before eventually being invited to DJ by the night's promoter. He moved to London in 2007, and first began producing and DJing in 2009 under the name Stopmakingme, collaborating with Little Boots, Hercules and Love Affair, and Metronomy, and regularly performing at Fabric.
