The Confederation of Vocational Unions (, YS) is a national trade union center, an umbrella organization of trade union, labour unions in Norway. It was established in 1977 as a non-partisan alternative to the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). It is affiliated to the International Trade Union Confederation, the European Trade Union Confederation, the Council of Nordic Trade Unions and the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD. International Trade Union Confederation
The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC; ; ; ) is the world's largest trade union federation. History The federation was formed on 1 November 2006 out of the merger of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) and the World Confederation of Labour (WCL). The Founding Congress of the ITUC was held in Vienna and was preceded by the dissolution congresses of both the ICFTU and the WCL. The ITUC has three main regional organizations: the ITUC-Asia Pacific, Asia-Pacific Regional Organization, the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas, and the ITUC-Africa, African Regional Organisation. Eldri Langåker
Eldri Langåker (born 3 March 1944) is a Norwegian trade unionist. She worked in Televerket from 1962 to 1987, but had a long trade union career. From 1973 to 1979 she was deputy leader of the trade union Kvinnelige Telegraf- og Telefonfunksjonærers Landsforening, and from 1979 to 1981 she was the leader. Trade Unions Established In 1977
Trade involves the transfer of goods and services from one person or entity to another, often in exchange for money. Economists refer to a system or network that allows trade as a market. Traders generally negotiate through a medium of credit or exchange, such as money. Though some economists characterize barter (i.e. trading things without the use of money) as an early form of trade, money was invented before written history began. Consequently, any story of how money first developed is mostly based on conjecture and logical inference. Letters of credit, paper money, and non-physical money have greatly simplified and promoted trade as buying can be separated from selling, or earning. Tore Eugen Kvalheim
Tore Eugen Kvalheim (born 4 March 1959) is a Norwegian trade unionist. An infantry captain in the Norwegian Army, he became chief of negotiation in the trade union Norwegian Military Officers' Association. In 2001 he became leader of ''YS Stat'', the division for state employees in the Confederation of Vocational Unions. Eva Bjøreng
Eva Bjøreng (born 23 January 1953) is a Norwegian trade unionist. She was born in Notodden. She started her career in banking, became a union representative in Kreditkassen and became a leading figure in the Finance Sector Union of Norway. From 1993 to 1996 she led the Confederation of Vocational Unions, and from 1996 to 1998 she was director of training in the same organization. Jan Andersen-Gott (born 5 October 1941) is a Norwegian naval officer and trade unionist. He was born in Vågå,Oppland, and lives at Jarmyra. Gunnar Caspersen (1932/1933 – 8 February 2000) was a Norwegian trade unionist. He started his career as a union representative in the bank Den norske Creditbank, and became informational secretary in Norske Bankfunksjonærers Forbund in 1965. In 1979 he became secretary-general.
