A Concours Hippique International Officiel (CHIO) (from French, meaning "Official International Equestrian Competition") is an FEI-sanctioned horse show with international-level competitors in equestrian sports such as show jumping, dressage, eventing, and combined driving. In a CHIO, there are individual and team competitions. Nation-teams consist of three or four riders from the same country. Only one CHIO may take place in each FEI member country per year, but not all countries have a CHIO. Two notable long-standing CHIOs are in Germany (since 1924) and CHIO Rotterdam in Netherlands, which has traditionally taken place at the since 1948. The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (, FEI) is the international governing body of equestrian sports. The FEI headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland. An FEI code of conduct protects the welfare of the horses from physical abuse or doping. On March 2, 2022, in the wake of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FEI banned Russian and Belarusian athletes, horses, and officials from FEI events, and subsequently an FEI Tribunal panel dismissed an appeal by Russia's Federation of Equestrian Sports challenging the ban. Eventing
Eventing (also known as three day eventing or horse trials) is an equestrian event where a single horse and rider combine and compete against other competitors across the three disciplines of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. This event has its roots in a comprehensive cavalry test that required mastery of several types of riding. The competition may be run as a one-day event (ODE), where all three events are completed in one day (dressage, followed by show jumping and then the cross-country phase) or a three-day event (3DE), which is more commonly now run over four days, with dressage on the first two days, followed by cross-country the next day and then show jumping in reverse order on the final day. The CHIO Rotterdam ( Concours Hippique International Officiel) is an annual international horse show held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The show is held every year in June. Is the largest international equestrian outdoor event in The Netherlands, hosted at the 'Rotterdamse Manege' in Kralingen. Soers
Soers is a community within Aachen and part of the district of Aachen-Laurensberg. The predominantly rural district today stretches from the border of Aachen-Mitte, the central district of Aachen, past the slopes of the Lousberg, a hill in the north of the city. It is a wetland that is drained by several rivers. The Wurm drains at out of the area's north end, and is the only drain of the Rur River in the Aachen Basin. Soers is known mainly as a result of the Old Tivoli, the former football stadium of Alemannia Aachen. The area's largely undeveloped nature and its easy access to the A4 motorway has caused the community to become further developed in recent years.
