Dunlap is a census-designated place (CDP) in Elkhart County, Indiana, Elkhart County, Indiana, United States. The population was 6,235 at the 2010 census. Once a small farming community, by the 1980s it had become a suburb of Elkhart, Indiana, Elkhart and Goshen, Indiana. Most of the town was destroyed by two violent F4 tornadoes during the Palm Sunday tornado outbreak of 1965, Palm Sunday Tornado Outbreak on April 11, 1965.
