The Concho County Courthouse on Public Sq. in Paint Rock, Texas is a courthouse built in 1886. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Paint Rock, Texas
Paint Rock is a town in and the county seat of Concho County, Texas, United States. The population was 273 at the 2010 census, down from 320 at the 2000 census. The town's name comes from Indian pictographs painted on cliffs overlooking the nearby Concho River. These pictographs cover nearly half a mile upstream from the town of Paint Rock. Some of the pictures painted on the rocks include animals, human figures, and handprints. Geography Paint Rock is located in northern Concho County at (31.507777, –99.923277), along U.S. Route 83. Eden is to the south and Ballinger is to the north via US 83, while San Angelo is to the west via secondary roads. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town of Paint Rock has a total area of , all of it land. Oscar Ruffini
Oscar Ruffini (10 April 1858–18 January 1957) was an architect in San Angelo, Texas. He was the first civic architect in the city and was responsible for many buildings across West Texas in the last 20 years of the 19th century. Early life Oscar Ruffini was born on 10 April 1858 to Germans Ernest Ruffini and Adelaide Reihme, who migrated to the United States of America shortly after their marriage in 1848. Oscar and his siblings, Frederick, Alvin, Clara, and Camilla, were raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Documentation on Oscar's life before his arrival in San Angelo, Texas is spotty, but at 14 he and Frederick were apprenticed to a Cleveland-based architect.
