Conchalí Big Band
Conchalí () is a commune of Chile in Santiago Province, within the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It is located in the northern part of the city of Santiago. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Conchalí spans an area of and has 133,256 inhabitants (64,973 men and 68,283 women), and the commune is an entirely urban area. The population fell by 12.9% (19,663 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses. Its 2006 population was projected at 120,151 persons. Humanist Party (Chile)
The Humanist Party () is a universal humanist, progressive, and left-wing political party in Chile, founded in 1984. The party is a member of the Humanist International. In December 1990, Laura Rodríguez became the first elected representative of any Humanist Party in the world after winning a seat as part of the '' Concertación'' coalition, after Augusto Pinochet handed over power. At the 2001 legislative elections, the party won 1.1% of the vote but no seats. For the 2005 presidential elections, the Humanist Party was a member of the coalition Juntos Podemos Más (Together We Can Do/Achieve More). National Renewal (, RN) is a liberal conservative political party in Chile. It is a member of Chile Vamos, a centre-right to right-wing coalition. Sebastián Piñera, the former President of Chile, was a member of the party. The Republican Party (; PLR) is a right-wing populist and conservative political party in Chile. Its founder and former leader is Chilean presidential candidate José Antonio Kast. History Background José Antonio Kast, the founder of the party, was a deputy for 16 years, and a member of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI) for 20 years. In 2017 he ran for president, finishing in fourth place with nearly 8% of the vote. Christian Democratic Party (Chile)
The Christian Democratic Party (, PDC) is a Christian democratic political party in Chile. There have been three Christian Democrat presidents in the past, Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, Patricio Aylwin, and Eduardo Frei Montalva. Customarily, the PDC backs specific initiatives in an effort to bridge socialism and laissez-faire capitalism. This economic system has been called "social capitalism" and is heavily influenced by Catholic social teaching or, more generally, Christian ethics. In addition to this objective, the PDC also supports a strong national government while remaining more conservative on social issues. The Independent Democratic Union (''Unión Demócrata Independiente'', UDI) is a conservative and right-wing political party in Chile, founded in 1983. Its founder was the lawyer, politician, law professor and senator Jaime Guzmán, a civilian allied with Augusto Pinochet. Its ideological origins date back to Guzmán's Guildist Movement, born out of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 1966, espousing the independence and depoliticization of intermediate bodies of civil society.
