"Con Los Años Que Me Quedan" () is a song by Cuban–American singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan from her third studio album, ''Mi Tierra'' (1993). It was written by the artist and her husband Emilio Estefan, with Emilio, Jorge Casas, and Clay Ostwald handling its production. An English-language version titled "If We Were Lovers" was released to the Anglo market. It was released as the second single from the album in 1993 by Epic Records. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or '' ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Salsa music is a style of Latin American music. Because most of the basic musical components predate the labeling of salsa, there have been many controversies regarding its origin. Most songs considered as salsa are primarily based on son montuno, with elements of mambo, Latin jazz, bomba, plena and guaracha.
