Comtel Air was an Austrian company executive aviation and commercial airline service based at Vienna. History Financial concerns were raised in November 2011, when a Comtel Air flight, from Amritsar in India, to Birmingham in the UK, was delayed in Vienna, Austria, for refueling the aircraft, and passengers were required to pay the approximately GB£20,000 bill. Birmingham Airport , formerly ''Birmingham International Airport'', is an international airport located east-southeast of Birmingham city centre, west-northwest of Coventry slightly north of Bickenhill village, in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, England. Officially opened as ''Elmdon Airport'' on 8 July 1939, the airport was requisitioned by the Air Ministry during Second World War and used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy as ''RAF Elmdon''. Mint Airways was an airline based in Madrid, Spain. History Mint Airways was founded on 3 June 2009 by Inter-Flights —part of the International Flights Network SA, a Spanish company with its headquarters in Madrid. It began operating charter services from Madrid-Barajas airport using a Boeing 757 aircraft. The airline soon added another 757 to its fleet and, towards the end of 2010, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 from Swiftair was also made part of the airline, although only for a brief period.
