Count (feminine: countess) is a historical title of nobility in certain European countries, varying in relative status, generally of middling rank in the hierarchy of nobility. Pine, L. G. Harry Comte
William Henry James Comte (10 March 1909 – 30 May 1945) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and Sandringham in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) during the 1930s. He fought in World War II with the 2/24th Battalion, Second A.I.F., and died of wounds sustained in action during the 1945 Battle of Tarakan. Pere Comte (also spelled Pere Compte; died 1506) was a catalan architect from Girona. He was one of the main Gothic architects of the Crown of Aragon of the period, and in particular in Valencia, where he directed the construction of numerous palaces. Pere Compte is considered a master of the Valencian Gothic art. Comte's works include the Convent of St. Dominic (1454–1457), together with Francesc Baldomar, the restoration of the Torres de Quart (1468), a chapel in the church of Sant Nicolau (1476), the crossing of the Cathedral of Orihuela. He performed for Louis XVIII at the Tuileries Palace and was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by Louis-Philippe. Fernando Compte (26 December 1930 – 8 September 2013) was a Spanish wrestling enthusiast who became president of the Spanish Wrestling Association and secretary general of the International Amateur Wrestling Federation (FILA). In 1984 he was the founder and first president of the Fédération Internationale de Sambo (International Sambo Federation).
