Compassion (Royal Coda Album)
''Compassion'' is the second full-length studio album by American post-hardcore band Royal Coda. It was released on November 7, 2019, on Blue Swan Records, and serves as a follow-up to their Royal Coda (album), self-titled debut studio album. It is the band's first album to feature guitarist Will Swan (musician), Will Swan and was produced by Kris Crummett. The lead single, "Numbing Agent", was released on September 12, 2019 with two more singles following; "Becoming the Memory" and "The Innocence Of". In support of the album, the band toured as support on Hail the Sun's The Mental Knife US Tour in September and October 2019 and was scheduled to tour as support Dance Gavin Dance's Spring Tour 2020, 2020 spring tour, but was later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Royal Coda
Royal Coda is an American rock music, rock band based in Sacramento, California, founded by lead guitarist Sergio Medina. They are known for their amalgamation of progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and post-hardcore. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Kurt Travis, guitarists Sergio Medina and Will Swan (musician), Will Swan, bass guitarist Steffen Gotsch, and drummer Joel Turcotte. After the dissolution of the post-hardcore band Stolas (band), Stolas, Medina formed Royal Coda as a project to experiment with new writing styles outside of his typical routine. Stolas (band)
Stolas (Sail the ocean, live at sea) is an American post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada formed in 2011. The band consisted of Carlo Marquez (lead vocals, drums, bass), and Sergio Medina (guitar, backing vocals). The band was signed as the first band on Blue Swan Records in 2013, a record label launched by Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance. They have released one EP, ''Losing Wings'' (2012) and three studio albums, ''Living Creatures'' (2013), ''Allomaternal'' (2014), and ''Stolas'' (2017). Strawberry Girls is an American rock band from Salinas, California, formed in 2011. The band is currently composed of guitarist Zac Garren, drummer Ben Rosett, and bassist Ian Jennings. All three members are multi-instrumentalists and record producers. History 2010–2013: Formation, ''Italian Ghosts'', and debut album Strawberry Girls formed shortly after guitarist Zachary Garren departed from post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance in February 2010. Hail the Sun is an American post-hardcore band from Chico, California. Formed in 2009, the band currently consists of lead vocalist and drummer Donovan Melero, guitarist Shane Gann, guitarist Aric Garcia, bass guitarist John Stirrat, and touring and studio drummer Allen Casillas. They are known for their eclectic progressive rock and math rock style, along with traditional elements of screamo and post-hardcore. They released their debut studio album, ''POW! Right In the Kisser!'' (2010), and EP, ''Elephantitis'' (2012), independently before signing to Blue Swan Records the following year. The group released their sophomore studio album, ''Wake'', in 2014. Thomas Joseph Erak is an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Mukilteo, Washington, best known as a founding member of the Seattle-based progressive mathcore band, The Fall of Troy and as a member of the band Just Like Vinyl; as well as his recent solo experiment Thomas Erak and The Shoreline. He is a former member of the band Chiodos. The Fall Of Troy (band)
The Fall of Troy is an American post-hardcore band from Mukilteo, Washington. The band is a trio consisting of Thomas Erak (guitars, vocals, keyboards), Andrew Forsman (drums, percussion), and Jon-Henry "Hendo" Batts (bass, screamed vocals). When the group started their bassist was Tim Ward, who was later replaced by Frank Ene following his departure from the band in late 2007. Ene would remain in the band until their initial breakup in 2010, but Ward rejoined the band in Ene's place for their reunion in 2013. Tilian Pearson (born July 12, 1987), also known mononymously as Tilian, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and record producer born in Clearwater, Florida. From 2012 to 2024, he was the clean vocalist for American post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance. Pearson began his music career as the lead vocalist and guitarist in the progressive rock band Tides of Man, releasing an extended play and two studio albums before leaving in 2010. After parting ways with Tides of Man, Pearson briefly joined the American rock bands Saosin and Emarosa following the departure of their respective vocalists, however never released any material with the groups. Kurt Travis (born January 16, 1984) is an American singer, musician, and songwriter from Sacramento, California. He is currently part of the post-hardcore bands Royal Coda, A Lot Like Birds, and Push Over and the math rock duo Gold Necklace, and was formerly a vocalist in the post-hardcore bandDance Gavin Dance. Travis began his musical career in 2001. He joined post-hardcore band Five Minute Ride, releasing the extended plays (EPs), ''Bathroom Walls...
