Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is the national Commonwealth Games Association for England. The company is responsible for supporting and managing the participation of England at the Commonwealth Games, Team England at the Commonwealth Games'. Carphone Warehouse is a mobile phone retailer based in London, United Kingdom. 2010 Commonwealth Games
The 2010 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XIX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Delhi 2010, were an international multi-sport event for the members of the Commonwealth that was held in Delhi, India, from 3 to 14 October 2010. A total of 4352 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and dependencies competed in 21 sports and 272 events, making it the largest Commonwealth Games to date. It was also the largest international multi-sport event to be staged in Delhi and India, eclipsing the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. The opening and closing ceremonies were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main stadium of the event. It was the first time that the Commonwealth Games were held in India and the second time they were held in Asia after Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1998. Denise Lewis
Dame Denise Rosemarie Lewis (born 27 August 1972) is a British sports administrator and former sports presenter and athletics athlete, who specialised in the heptathlon. She won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was twice Commonwealth Games champion, was the 1998 European Champion, and won World Championships silver medals in 1997 and 1999. She was the first European to win the Olympic heptathlon, though Europeans, including Briton Mary Peters, had won the Olympic pentathlon precursor event. Nigel Walker (athlete)
Nigel Keith Walker (born 15 June 1963) is a former Welsh track and field athlete and Wales international rugby union player. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He is currently Welsh Rugby Union's acting CEO, after the resignation of Steve Phillips. Biography Born in Cardiff, Walker was a member of Cardiff AAC and became the British 110 metres hurdles metres champion after winning the British AAA Championships title at the 1984 AAA Championships. Shortly afterwards he represented Great Britain at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, in the 110 metres hurdles. He finished second behind Henry Andrade at the 1985 AAA Championships but by virtue of being the highest placed British athlete was considered the British champion again. However, with the emergence of fellow Welsh athlete Colin Jackson he had to settle for podium finishes thereafter. The English Institute of Sport is a multi-sport facility in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The facility designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects was opened in December 2003 at a cost of £24 million. Its main feature is a 200m indoor track, but it also hosts several other sporting arenas as well as a large gym and extensive sports medicine facilities. It is in the Lower Don Valley between the Sheffield Arena and Don Valley Bowl. It is managed by SIV (Sheffield International Venues).
