Cosimo Commisso (born November 28, 1965) is a Canadian former association football, soccer player who earned five caps for the Canada men's national soccer team, national team in 1988. In 1982, he played in the Canadian National Soccer League, National Soccer League with Toronto Italia, and was drafted by the Toronto Blizzard (1971–1984), Toronto Blizzard in 1983. Emilio Nicolás Commisso (born 5 November 1956 in Córdoba) is a former Argentine footballer. He played for a number of clubs in Argentina and Spain. Commisso started his professional career in 1976 with River Plate. During his seven years playing at the club, they won five league titles. Commisso played 218 league games for River, scoring 27 goals. In 1984, he joined Argentinos Juniors, he played for the club during their golden age, winning two league titles the Copa Libertadores 1985 and the Copa Interamericana, they also played in the Copa Intercontinental against Juventus of Italy. Commisso left Argentinos in 1988 to join Talleres de Córdoba but he only stayed one season before joining Xerez in Spain. Commisso returned to Argentina to play for Estudiantes de La Plata and his last club was Quilmes Atlético Club between 1991 and 1992. Eduardo Antonio Commisso (born 29 July 1948 in Avellaneda) is a former Argentine football midfielder who won the Copa Libertadores with Independiente on four consecutive occasions. He also played for Hércules CF of Spain. Career Commisso began playing for his home town club Independiente in 1968. He made 208 league appearances for the club and a further 23 in international tournaments. During his time as an Independiente player the club won two league titles, four consecutive Copa Libertadores and the Copa Intercontinental 1973. In 1975, he joined Hércules CF where he played 40 times, scoring 3 goals. In 1978, he returned to Argentina and had brief stints with Chacarita Juniors and Estudiantes de La Plata. Commisso's Food Markets was a Canadian supermarket chain based in Beamsville, Ontario. Operating under Commisso's Grocery Distributors Limited, the chain was part of one of the largest independently owned grocery and food distribution chains in Southern Ontario. At its peak, Commisso's operated a wholesale business and distribution centre, six cash and carry outlets, and 16 supermarkets across the Niagara and Hamilton areas, where its commitment to "quality products, friendly people and low prices" proved very popular. On December 3, 2003, Sobeys announced that it had entered into an agreement to purchase all of the company's assets and a deal was finalized on February 3, 2004. All of the original Commisso's supermarkets were converted to Sobeys and Price Chopper stores. The original Beamsville location, which the Commisso family kept in operation for two more years, was purchased by Loblaw Companies.
