Michael Robert Gale (born May 25, 1951) is an American screenwriter, comic book writer, film producer and film director, director. He is best known for co-writing the science fiction comedy film ''Back to the Future'' with his writing partner Robert Zemeckis. Gale co-produced Back to the Future (franchise), all three films of the franchise and later served as associate producer of the Back to the Future (TV series), animated TV series. Actor Michael J. University City (colloquially, U. City) is an inner-ring suburb of the city of St. Louis in St. Louis County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was measured at 35,065 by the 2020 census. ''1941'' is a 1979 American war comedy film directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale.
