Polis (: poleis) means 'city' in Ancient Greek. The ancient word ''polis'' had socio-political connotations not possessed by modern usage. For example, Modern Greek πόλη (polē) is located within a (''khôra''), "country", which is a πατρίδα (patrida) or "native land" for its citizens. In ancient Greece, the polis was the native land; there was no other. It had a constitution and demanded the supreme loyalty of its citizens. χώρα was only the countryside, not a country. Ancient Greece was not a sovereign country, but was territory occupied by Hellenes, people who claimed as their native language some dialect of Ancient Greek. Poleis did not only exist within the area of the modern Republic of Greece. Come is an American alternative rock band, formed in Boston by Thalia Zedek (vocals, guitar), Chris Brokaw (guitar, vocals), Arthur Johnson (drums), and Sean O'Brien (bass). Band history and reception Come came into being after a mutual acquaintance invited Brokaw, O'Brien, and Johnson to play with him. Brokaw was playing drums with Codeine, Johnson had previously drummed for Athens, Georgia, band Bar-B-Q Killers, and O'Brien had played with two other 1980s Athens bands, Kilkenny Cats and Fashion Battery. After playing one show together, Brokaw, O'Brien, and Johnson decided to split off into their own project and invited Thalia Zedek to join them. Zedek had played in the bands Uzi and Dangerous Birds and had met and befriended Brokaw in the mid-1980s. Come was a British noise music project, which was founded in 1979 by William Bennett. In the short time of its existence it had such prominent members as Daniel Miller and J. G. Thirlwell. Bennett would later end the project in 1980 in favor for his then newly formed power electronics project Whitehouse, however a second studio album under the Come moniker was released in 1981 titled ''I'm Jack''. The independent record label Come Organisation was created as a result of the lack of interest other labels showed in the group's recordings. They never performed live. While all of their material is largely out-of-print, most of their ''Rampton'' LP can be found on the Susan Lawly double disc compilation ''Anthology 1 Come Organisation Archives 1979-1980'', and the entirety of ''I'm Jack'' is included on ''Anthology 2 Come Organisation Archives 2 1981-1982''. Come Organisation was a record label started by William Bennett (noise musician), William Bennett in 1979 as a way to release albums by his own band, Come (UK band), Come, when he was unable to find a label willing to release them. It released the work of Bennett's subsequent band, Whitehouse (band), Whitehouse. The label's first release was the Come single "Come Sunday/Shaved Slits" in 1979. When Bennett dissolved Come in 1980 to form Whitehouse, Come Organisation continued to release his work, serving as the label for all of Whitehouse's albums from its inception through 1985's ''Great White Death (album), Great White Death''. In addition, Bennett began to release albums by other controversial or extreme groups, including Sutcliffe Jugend, Maurizio Bianchi, Nurse With Wound and even Charles Manson. ''Come'' is the fifteenth studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on August 16, 1994, by Warner Bros. Records. At the time of the album's release, Prince was in a public dispute with Warner Bros. A lack of promotion from the label and from Prince himself resulted in ''Come'' under-performing on American record charts, stalling at No. 15, and becoming his first album since ''Controversy'' (1981) to not yield any top 10 singles in the US. However, it was more successful overseas, reaching the top 10 across Europe and topping the UK Albums Chart. The album would be Prince's final Warner Bros. album under his name. ''Say You Will'' is the seventeenth and final studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 15 April 2003. COM Express is a form factor for computer-on-modules (COMs), which are highly integrated and compact computers that can be used in design applications much like integrated circuit components.
