Comet In Moominland (film)
is a Dutch-Japanese anime film by Telecable Benelux B.V. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson, originally published in Swedish. It was the first full-length Moomin film, and serves as a prequel to the 1990 anime series ''Moomin,'' introducing characters that would later appear in the series. It was released in Japan first theatrically on August 8, 1992 as a triple-feature with two unrelated shorter films, and was later released on home video with 10 minutes of extra footage. The original Japanese release of the film was scored by Sumio Shiratori, re-using compositions that were created for the anime series. In addition, he composed two new opening and ending songs for the film—"Shiawase no morugaane" and "Kono uchuu he, tsutae tai", respectively, both sung by Emiko Shiratori. Dennis Livson
Moomin World (, ) is a theme park based on the Moomin books by Tove Jansson. It was designed by Dennis Livson, and is located on the island of Kailo next to the old town of Naantali, in Southwest Finland. The blueberry-coloured Moomin House is the main attraction of the park, where guests are permitted to visit all five storeys. The full-size moominhouse was built in 1993 to look like Jansson's own earlier drawings of the house. Hemulen's house is located next to the Moomin House. It is also possible to go to, for example, Moominmamma's kitchen, the fire station, Snufkin's camp, and Moominpappa's boat. Visitors can also meet Moomin characters around the park or the Witch in her cottage. Moomin World is not a traditional amusement park, as it does not have any rides. There are numerous activities and paths including Toffle's Path with the Witch's Labyrinth, The Hattifatteners' Cave and The Groke's House. The original Swedish language, Swedish names are given with the etymologies and word associations suggested by Yvonne Bertills in her 2003 dissertation. Comet
A comet is an icy, small Solar System body that warms and begins to release gases when passing close to the Sun, a process called outgassing. Snufkin (original Swedish: ''Snusmumrik ''en' or ''Mumrik ''en', Finnish: ''Nuuskamuikkunen'') is a character in the Moomin series of books written by Swedish-speaking Finn Tove Jansson, appearing in six of the nine books; his first appearance is in the second book, '' Comet in Moominland''. MTV3 (, ) is a Finnish commercial television channel owned and operated by the media company MTV Oy, originally launched on 13 August 1957 as a programming block, becoming its own channel on 1 January 1993. It had the biggest audience share of all Finnish TV channels until Yle TV1 (from Yle) took the lead. Emiko Shiratori
Emiko Shiratori ( ''Shiratori Emiko''; born March 16, 1950) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. In 1969, the record label Toshiba EMI (now EMI Music Japan) paired her with Sumio Akutagawa, and they formed the folk group Toi et Moi. They achieved great success in Japan, and from 1969 to 1973 released an average of two albums and four singles a year. In 1973, Shiratori released her first solo album and continued as a solo artist throughout the 1970s. She performed at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics and the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. As a vocalist for the video game ''Final Fantasy IX'', she performed the main theme " Melodies of Life" in both Japanese and English.
