The Devil's Blood
The Devil's Blood was a Dutch people, Dutch occult rock band from Eindhoven, formed in 2006. Their style is hard rock in the vein of Black Widow (band), Black Widow, Coven (band), Coven, Black Sabbath, and a variety of 1970s underground music, underground progressive rock, progressive and psychedelic rock. Their sound has been described as "seductive, rather than aggressive," featuring female vocals, classical guitar leads, analog recording, analog atmospherics, and "vintage satanism, satanic hooks." History The group was founded by lead guitarist, lyricist, and principal songwriter Selim "SL" Lemouchi. SL's sister, Farida "F. Roger Kynard "Roky" Erickson (July 15, 1947 – May 31, 2019) was an American musician and singer-songwriter. Called an "outsider genius," he was a founding member and the leader of the 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre in the 1960s. His singing voice was described as "powerful ndragged." Biography Erickson was born in Dallas, Texas to Roger and Evelyn Erickson, and had four younger brothers. The nickname "Roky", a contraction of his first and middle names, was given to him by his parents. Pagan rock is a genre of rock music created by adherents of neopagan traditions. It emerged as a distinct genre from gothic rock in the 1980s.
