''Come Clean'' is the second studio album and major label debut by American post-grunge band Puddle of Mudd. Released on August 28, 2001, the album's music was responsible for breaking Puddle of Mudd into the mainstream music scene. It features the singles " Control," "Blurry," " Drift & Die" and " She Hates Me". Various tracks were re-recorded from the band's previous releases, '' Stuck'' and ''Abrasive''. The album was the band's biggest hit on the US ''Billboard'' 200, peaking at number nine. The album has sold over 5,000,000 copies and was certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA. Puddle of Mudd is an American post-grunge band formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 1992. The band has sold over seven million albums. Their major-label debut, '' Come Clean'' (2001), spawned the single " Blurry", which peaked at number 5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and remains their signature song. The album sold over five million copies by 2003, and was followed by six additional albums, the latest of which is '' Kiss the Machine'' (2025). "Drift & Die" is a song by Puddle of Mudd, released as the third single from their album '' Come Clean'' in 2001. The song previously appeared on their 1994 EP, '' Stuck'', released as a single locally. Although less popular than the crossover hits "Blurry" and " She Hates Me", "Drift & Die" still receives regular airplay on rock radio stations today, as well as being the band's sixth best-selling single in the United States. Wesley Reid Scantlin (born June 9, 1972) is an American singer, musician, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and only constant member of rock band Puddle of Mudd. He was named one of the "Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists" by ''Hit Parader''. Early life Wesley Reid Scantlin was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 9, 1972.
