George Cyril Colmore (1885–1937) was an English aviator and the first Royal Naval Air Service officer to gain a Royal Aero Club Aviators Licence. Military career Colmore was born at Hathern, Leicestershire on 14 September 1885 and in 1901 he enrolled, aged 15, as an Officer Cadet at the Thames Nautical Training College (also known as HMS Worcester) in Dartford, Kent. Gertrude Baillie-Weaver (née Renton; 8 June 1855 – 26 November 1926) was an English suffragette and writer who published as Gertrude Colmore. She co-founded the National Council for Animals' Welfare and wrote in support of animal welfare and human rights. Early life Born Jacob Colmore in Mile End, London, Comer was the youngest of four children. A prominent tackle, he is the only All-Southeastern Conference selection in the history of the Sewanee Tigers football program. Philadelphia coach Bert Bell selected Colmore for All-American. Colmore Gate is an office and retail building in Birmingham, England. An example of early 1990s architecture by the Seymour Harris Partnership, the lift shaft is on the outside of the building and the windows are tinted a dark blue colour. The design blends a traditional look with modern materials and style. It is situated in the heart of the business district of Birmingham. The building is home to many large companies. The building sits on the former footprint of the old Greys department store, torn down by PJ Murray Haulage in the 1980s. 103 Colmore Row is a 108-metre tall, 26-storey commercial office building located on Colmore Row, Birmingham, England. Completed in 2021, this building replaced the former National Westminster Bank, NatWest Tower designed by John Madin and completed in 1975. In 2008, a plan by then owners British Land to demolish Natwest Tower and replace it with a taller modern equivalent was approved. This plan never progressed and in 2015 the building passed to the developer Sterling Property Ventures, who successfully applied to have the building demolished. Built as the Eagle Insurance Offices it was later occupied by Orion Insurance and was Hudson's Coffee House until late 2011, It is currently Java Lounge Coffee House ().
