Collin County Outer Loop
The Collin County Outer Loop is a partially-built beltway in Collin County, Texas. The highway would travel from the Denton County line to the Rockwall County line, passing through cities in the northern and eastern parts of the county. The Loop is part of the DFW Regional Outer Loop project, which would encircle the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The highway was initially proposed as a toll road, with Collin County establishing the Collin County Toll Road Authority to manage the project. However, in March 2019, following the county's Commissioners Court opted to make the road a freeway. Current status , the highway consists of two discontinuous segments, both of which are primarily two-lane roads. These segments will serve as frontage roads in the final highway. The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is a not-for-profit government organization that maintains and operates toll roads, bridges, and tunnels in the North Texas area. Functioning as a political subdivision of the State of Texas under Chapter 366 of the Transportation Code, the NTTA is empowered to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects; to raise capital for construction projects through the issuance of turnpike revenue bonds; and to collect tolls to operate, maintain and pay debt service on those projects. Farmersville, Texas
Farmersville is a city located in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,612 at the 2020 census, with the larger Census County Division (CCD) having a population of 12,344. History Farmersville originated in 1849 as a settlement on the Jefferson-McKinney Road, and near Republic of Texas National Road - now known as US Highway 380 and Texas State Highway 78, respectively. The settlement was named by two of the original settlers - William Pickney Chapman & John Hendrex - after the chief occupation of many of the residents. Texas State Highway 289
State Highway 289, known for most of its length as Preston Road, is a north–south Texas state highway. It begins at the intersection of Preston Road and Loop 12/Northwest Highway in Dallas. The Preston Road designation comes from the fact that the highway generally follows the course of an older road known as the Preston Trail, which ran to the town of Preston Bend. Preston is now submerged by Lake Texoma. Nevada, Texas
Nevada ( , unlike the state of Nevada) is a city in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 822 at the 2010 census, and 1,314 in 2020. History First settled in 1835 by John McMinn Stambaugh and named "McMinn Chapel", the area was settled by Granville Stinebaugh, who named it after the Nevada Territory. Nevada enjoyed some prosperity after becoming a stop on the St. Louis Southwestern Railway, and the town incorporated in 1889. On May 9, 1927, a half-mile-wide F4 tornado ripped through Nevada, leaving 19 dead, 100 injured, and property damage exceeding $650,000.
