Collegium Artium
Collegium Artium is an independent, non-profit organisation registered in Poland with a charitable status (according to Polish law: a public benefit organization) promoting open science and open culture. Projects conducted by Collegium Artium are related to cultural heritage in the broadest sense, with particular emphasis on the history of art. The organisation carries out research projects, publishes a book series and awards fellowships and prizes. As a signatory of, among others, the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, it participates in the open science and culture movement and contributes to the creation of the world’s greatest open-access repository of art-historical texts operated by the Heidelberg University Library. Małgorzata Dąbrowska
Małgorzata Dąbrowska (born 11 January 1956) is a Polish historian, Byzantinist, dean of the History Department at the University of Łódź. She specializes in Byzantine studies, specifically the topics of Byzantium and the West in 13th-15th centuries, mixed marriages in the Imperial family of the Palaiologoi, rivalry between the Palaiologoi and Kantakouzenoi families, the Empire of Trebizond and the Pontus, the relationship between Kingdom of Poland and Byzantium, as well as Polish contemporary history. Humanities are academic disciplines that study aspects of human society and culture, including certain fundamental questions asked by humans. San Francisco Declaration On Research Assessment
The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) is a statement that denounces the practice of correlating the journal impact factor to the merits of a specific scientist's contributions. Also according to this statement, this practice creates biases and inaccuracies when appraising scientific research. It also states that the impact factor is not to be used as a substitute "measure of the quality of individual research articles, or in hiring, promotion, or funding decisions". The declaration originated from the December 2012 academic conference, meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology, and was published on May 13, 2013, signed by more than 150 scientists and 75 professional society, scientific organizations.
