Asia Pacific Bowls Championships
The Asia Pacific Bowls Championships formerly the Pacific Rim Championships was a lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Asia Pacific region. The event was inaugurated in 1985, and it was initially held every two years but then took place every four years and was a qualifying event for the World Outdoor Bowls Championships. In 2021, the 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was officially cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. World Bowls then decided that the World Championships would take place every two years starting in 2023. Adrienne Marie Lambert (née Parker; born ) is a former international lawn bowler from New Zealand. Bowls career Lambert won a gold and silver medals at the 1989 Asia Pacific Bowls Championships, in Suva, Fiji. She went on to win three more medals at further Championships. The following year she won a silver medal in the women's fours with Lyn McLean, Marlene Castle and Rhoda Ryan at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. Ann Shirley Muir (born 24 July 1946) is a New Zealand international lawn bowls player and administrator. Bowls career Muir won a fours bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships. Muir competed at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in the women's fours, where she won the bronze medal along with her teammates Adrienne Lambert, Colleen Ferrick and Marlene Castle. Marlene Robyn Castle (born 13 March 1944) is a lawn and indoor bowls international for New Zealand. Bowls career The veteran of four Commonwealth Games won her first medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, earning a silver in the women's fours. Again as part of the women's fours team she won a bronze medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Her last Commonwealth medal was at the 2002 Commonwealth Games where she won a bronze in the women's singles.
