Collector (comics)
The Collector (Taneleer Tivan) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared in ''The Avengers (comic book), The Avengers'' #28 (May 1966), during the Silver Age of Comic Books, and has been a recurring antagonist in various storylines over the course of the ensuing decades. Different versions of the character have been adapted into various feature films, animated television series, video games, and other properties. Thanos () is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-artist Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in '' The Invincible Iron Man'' #55 (cover date February 1973). An Eternal– Deviant warlord from the moon Titan, Thanos is regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. ''Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions'' is a three-issue comic book limited series published from June to August 1982 by Marvel Comics. The Elders of the Universe are a group of supervillains appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Collector was the first Elder to appear, and featured in '' The Avengers'' #28 (May 1966), but the idea that he was a member of a group known as the Elders was not introduced until ''The Avengers'' #174 (Aug. 1978). Fictional history The Elders of the Universe are the last survivors of otherwise extinct races. Each discovered that they had potentially infinite lifespans, dependent on maintaining the will to continue living. They are thus known for their personal obsessions (such as collecting, contests of strategy or strength, and various fields of study), each of which is pursued fanatically. Korvac
Korvac is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in '' Giant-Size Defenders'' #3 (Jan. 1975) and was created by Steve Gerber and Jim Starlin. Publication history Korvac debuted in '' Giant-Size Defenders'' #3 (1975) with no first name given, and according to creator Gerber: "The character really was a throwaway, created for one story. And I never intended to bring him back, because, among other things, I hated the name! I still think it sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than a villain". However, Roger Stern and Len Wein felt that Korvac, being a native of the 31st century, made a natural adversary for the Guardians of the Galaxy, and wrote a story in ''Thor Annual'' #6 (1977) which was intended to set him up in that role. The Glob is the name of different fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history The first Glob debuted in '' The Incredible Hulk'' (vol. 2) #121 (November 1969), and was created by Roy Thomas and Herb Trimpe. Roy Thomas has stated that the character was a conscious imitation of the Heap.
