Colin Holba
Colin Holba (born July 8, 1994) is a former American football long snapper. He played college football at Louisville. Holba was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round (213th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Early life While in high school, Holba played three years of football and four years of baseball. He also made honor roll for all four years of high school and graduated as valedictorian at Eastern High School. Inspired by the influence of his older brother. He can attribute all of his collegiate and professional sporting success to his older brother, Brendan Holba, a high school teacher and varsity softball coach at York Community High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. Zak DeOssie
Zackary Robert DeOssie (born May 25, 1984) is a former American football long snapper of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Brown University and was drafted by the New York Giants in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft as a linebacker. He was a twice Pro Bowl selection as a long snapper. DeOssie has earned two Super Bowl rings with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI, both over his hometown New England Patriots. 2020 XFL Draft
The 2020 XFL Draft was the inaugural player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams of the 2020 reboot of the XFL. The draft was held on October 15–16, 2019, via conference call, with results released through the XFL's social media channels. Structure The XFL player allocation process was held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league used a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order was shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. A draft pool of 1,000 eligible players was announced in 200-player installments the week before the draft. Matt Overton
Matthew Thomas Overton (born July 6, 1985) is an American football long snapper who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Western Washington after graduating from Diablo Valley College, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2007. Overton has also played for the Indianapolis Colts, with whom he made the Pro Bowl in 2013. In between stints with the Seahawks, Overton played for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League in 2009.
